Brous Mini-Division Flipper

The mini is still difficult to deploy from the pocket. You have slippery g-10 on one side and a narrow clip on the other so it's hard to get a grip. Great knife otherwise!

How is it that you've handled one? I see you're in CA - perhaps not too far from Jason?

Please lost pictures when you receive it, I'm a bit torn between satin and stonewash. Brous' satin finish shows wear very easily, I'm hoping it's more of a glossy stonewash. I'm loving the stonewash following a mirror polish.

Oh so good...

I wouldn't worry too much, when I bought my Reloader I didn't receive a confirmation or tracking number, it just arrived a few days later.

Also, I hate to be a bother but could by chance measure the handle thickness? That's my one bugaboo with knives lately. Not a big fan of the super chunky pocket bricks.

Oh i see, hope youre right. :)
Becuase i live in Sweden, so it Will take a while to arrive. Espacially if it gets stuck in the customs etc.

5/8" (15.875mm) thick. 5.25" (133.35mm) long starting from the lanyard loop.

The way the handle is shaped directs your hand into the pocket instead of bulging into the opening like the Domino does. This is as big as I would comfortably go size wise but it really doesn't feel heavy.
The Domino is on me today so that is what I am comparing it to.

 Mine is sitting in the mail box waiting for me to get home...Normally the mail runs on my lunch break but not today...Seems like when I have a new knife on the way the mail man always runs late on delivery day....Pics to come later tonight if the g/f doesn't kill me first..lol

What do you think of the opening action?

Just like the Bionic, it came a little gritty. Opened, wiped, oiled and reassembled. I can almost shake it down but you can still feel the detent dragging. There was zero detent trail so I expect once the stonewash is warn under the detent it will be crazy smooth.

EDIT: The action is really good and the flipper is in a natural position for my hand size. I don't need to preload it much to get it to snap open, and the "light switch" method works easily, unlike the Bionic.

How was it packaged? In the plastictube? Pics? :)
I always appreciate a good packaging. It's pretty important to me.

Mine shows delivered as well...glad no signature was required!

Interesting that you disassembled it. Apparently Jason recommends you don't do that - it's not a warranty violation, but he advises against it.

I've never tried the Bionic, but I do have the T4 and am hoping it's comparable.

Taking apart a brand new knife and cleaning is almost a compulsion for me at this point :D... almost like re-profiling a factory sharp blade to your favorite angle (which is definitely not necessary on any Brous I've had. SHAAAAARP!)

It came in the standard clear tube, no foam end caps, with a large black sticker and large white sticker. Signed and numbered b-day card that says "...do not take it apart..." Simple, awesome, normal Brous goodness.

That's great - he indicated to me they use a special screw machine for the handle screws which is set to a specific pressure which obviously can't be duplicated by hand. I LIKE to disassemble my knives, clean/grease, etc....but I haven't done so (yet) with my T4 due to the warning from Jason...I had problems reassembling a Strider SNG CC once that has made me gun shy...

I see you're in Ohio - whereabouts?

Oh great now Jason is going to read all about my disassembly of the knives and say "screw you" if I need something :( From the one time I talked to him and a few emails, that dude seems awesome and I doubt he would say that but "disapproving shaking of head" is all I can see now after reading the card...

I'm between Dayton and Cincinnati... You in the area?

Near Dayton!

Number 12 of 1000 was waiting in my mailbox when I got home:

Great first impressions - super smooth and fast deployment without a hint of grittiness...contours to the hand wonderfully...satin finish blade is gorgeous and sharp.

How would you compare the flipper action to the T4?

Very, very comparable in terms of ease and feel. The T4 blade is bigger and a bit heavier so it feels a bit different. But the same smoothness is there and it's just as easy to flip even against gravity.
