Brous Mini-Division Flipper

Hi, mine is a Satin blade, it has the gritty feeling too. Just the same as WSU Tony's situation. I took it apart 3 to 4 times. I adjusted the lockbar to be softer but it causes the blade to wobble after assembly. Then the second time, I put back the lock bar to its original setting and it is back to status quo. I also loosen the pivot screw a little and it flips better some how it re tighten it back to factory setting again.
I think the problem is with the lock bar, adjust that and you will get what you want, when i push the lock bar to release and hold it down, the blade swivel freely.

There's a T4 Carbon Fiber coming out which I'm looking forward to as long as the flipper action is the same as the T4 G-10. Sure is sweet! Additionally, Brous needs to expand beyond just D2 for everything!

I have a Division flipper and it's a monster. I'd pick up this mini if offered in carbon fiber...his cf scales are beautiful! G-10 is just not my cup of tea. His T4 has a better flipper action? Wow...that's impressive. I'm all sad now, it's sold out.

I have a CF/Ti version T4, and it is unbelievably easy to flip. In fact, even against gravity, I literally cannot break detent (which is very strong) without full lock-up opening. It's really an amazing knife. I have a stonewash MD on the way, and picked up a blackout SS Flipper and an acid stonewash V2 SS. Guess you could call me a happy camper with Brous Blades offering so far.

300+ dollars for a d2 linerlock with g10? it seems you can get a similar product for much lower from other companies. after i received the brous bionic i felt like i was being ripped off.

I traded up my the Bionic . They took it back.
The Mini Division is a whole different animal than the Bionic.
It is a big knife though. I don't see myself carrying .
It's just a nice toy.

If you had a Division Flipper right beside the mini, you wouldn't call the mini a big knife.
I have both and either carry well in pocket, but the mini is more of a EDC size for me.

I've got quite a few above and below it price-wise (Spyderco Southard, CRK, Gayle Bradley, Emerson's, ZT's - the usual). I consider the Brous Blades Mini Division to be one of the best values of any of them. In fact, mine has been my EDC every day since it arrived. Brilliant design and execution, my favorite "2+2" configuration grip (reminds me of my CQC-10 or Roadhouse), wicked yet very usable blade, and frankly I am very fond of D2 on a knife I really want to use.

I just picked up a Mini-Division flipper and love it. I am definitely swapping it out as my EDC. I wanted something a little bigger than what I was carrying, but definitely not massive by any means.

I have several knives in D2, including a Brous Bionic, and it is a wonderful steel and fairly easy to maintain, especially if you use a sharpmaker. A mini-division is in my future.

I just got my MD satin. The knife is amazing....except the action. It is really bad, i cannot get it to lock up without a hard wrist flip. When i press the lock bar to close i literally have to use my other hand to close it. i do not want to take the knife apart. I can but i didnt pay $300 to fix a brand new knife. Has anybody else with this problem sent there knife back to jason? If so did it come back as smooth as most of them. I just sent jason an email and hopefully will hear something soon. I love this knife and hopefully can get it fixed.

Well cant say if his customer service has improved or not but I actually sold my only brous because he would only return emails of mine when I was interested in buying something yet would not return a single email I sent him about an issue I had with a knife of his. Have you tried loosening the pivot a bit? there should be no reason for the thing not to open fully.

I adjust the pivot pin a hair and added some blue locktite, and put a few drops of oil into the bearing and a dab on the detent and its a conpletely different knife. Its as good as all the reviews said. With minimal preload against gravity it flys out...smooth as butter. For a 1 man operation and a 1000 count run a few my get a hair over tightend. But it was a simple fix and i honestly dont see how it could be better. With tip up all it takes is to break the detent and its screams open. Every manufacturer will have these issues but with such a simple build its easily fixed. Now its time to order some of his blue shred cf scales.

Ok here are the pictures....Some size/shape comparisons and the guts....

I am putting some beautiful hand made and stabilized wood scales on my satin mini division to give it a little classier look. Id have never got it apart if not for your pictures. However i am at the same stage as your picture. the screw and pivot pin are still on the non lockbar side. I took apart and reassembled some otf knives that didn't give me this much trouble. Did you ever take the side screw and pivot pin out. I hate to go hulk on it and break something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully i can get it apart and make these scales. Its my first time making my own wood stabilized scales and will post a thread of how i did it. I have alot of wood work experience so it should be a breeze. I also planned on acid etching J. Morgan on the inside of the lockbar. I have a custom printed sticker to use as a stencil and know how to do it. But will pcb etchant work well on this type of steel. If not im friends with a good metal engraver i may have engrave it. Thanks for your help.
