I don't think anyone has a problem with his knives... they appear to be of fair quality for the price. It is his dishonesty and refusal to admit or reconcile his actions that keeps this thread alive.

I wish this guy lived in NJ so he could come "find" me. Seems like a real tough guy, being some sort of operator in some clandestine sword wielding group of mercenaries.

My point was not that his knives were a problem but his claim as you point out. I wondered why a guy who was complimented for having such quality and could produce at the level shown in the picture, which he claimed was his, would steal a photograph in the first place. Apparently, he could not. The picture he took was from a thread where Nick was showing the excruciating finishing process he takes to produce the contrast for exposing the hamon! Even so, it does shock me that he would even claim Nick's work. As fast as things move on the Internet, he was bound to be exposed.

So Jake also falsely claims to have served honorably in the US military?

As others have stated, my issue isn't the quality of HIS knives. I couldn't give two :::edited::: about HIS knives. What gets my blood pressure up is that he claimed Nick Wheeler's work as his own and has yet to admit any wrongdoing. I'll be sure to keep a watch out for a 300lb Viking to show up at my house.

Wow indeed.
Threats, lies, and claims of killing 7 people with a sword in foreign lands.
Truly delusional.

And 300 pounds is a snack for us Komodo Dragons.;)

WTF How is it that this guy going through all the learning curves and getting to where he is at is not enough?

I just had a customer send me an email asking about Mad Bull Blades and if he was legit. The reason for his concern was he was sent a picture of a wakizashi that was for sale for $1,000. Said he'd ship as soon as payment was made. Only thing is, it was a Rick Barrett wakizashi, so he still hasn't learned.

As a public service announcement - I was contacted today by an individual claiming to be Jake Tuinstra saying that this information was incorrect and that he wanted me to pull it off the website.

I told him that,

1, we are not responsible for the actions of 3rd parties and
2, he is welcome to post a rebuttal to this on here, and
3, that if he is wanting to pursue legal action I'll be more than happy to provide him with whatever information we have on the people he wants to sue once he's provided us with a subpoena and other court documents to provide it. Once such a case has been determined in a court of law and the information has been proven to be false, we'll be more than happy to remove it from the site.

Until then, though...
