A while back, a fellow forumite posted a contest, the prize being a custom neck knife. I wrote in about my little boy who loves knives and loves to go fishing with me. I always wear a neck knife fishing, and I wrote that it would make his day if he had a custom neck knife to take fishing with me.
I didn't win the knife in the contest, but Brian sent me an e-mail offering to send my son a custom neck knife. We received the knife today, and my son was ecstatic. He now has his first custom knife, a hand-forged cord wrapped 1095 piece. This was an exceptionally kind thing for him to do. He doesn't know me or my son personally, but was generous and thoughtful enough to send a 6 year old little boy a knife that he will treasure forever.
A knife collector was created today, and I hope and trust that a lesson in kindness was taught as well.
From me and my son Colton, thank you so much.
