Guy just filed a claim with Paypal for a knife I sold and shipped him on the 11th of July. Claiming he didn't authorize the transaction.

Here's my thread where Bubbicus purchased the knife. https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...rm-atom-burlap-micarta.1799135/#post-20615242

So glad it was a G&S transaction with internal tracking! Knife arrived on the 15th at the address given in his Paypal profile. I never heard from him about the transaction and he never left feedback. Over 3 months later and he blindsides me with this BS. I have responded to Paypal and provided all relevant screenshots to them, hopefully I will receive a fair judgement there.

Update 10/26/21: I sent an e-mail last night to Bubbicus, on the e-mail provided to me by Paypal, and received a reply this morning. He's saying it was an honest mistake and that his wife handles their finances. Says he's working to resolve the issue and make sure I am not parted from my money. Hope this is true, I will keep the BF community updated.

However this turns out, it's clear to me now I should have allowed him the opportunity to respond before bothering the BF community with it. I let my anger get the better of me and that's never a good idea.

Update 10/28/21: Bubbicus Bubbicus (Ryan Weiss) has made things right for me and also for Redwood25 Redwood25 This was nothing but an honest mistake/miscommunication and it shouldn't reflect badly on Ryan. It was a bad situation and I regret my hasty actions in posting negative feedback here without giving Ryan a chance to reply.

I'll keep a lookout for that in the future. Maybe he'll show up and explain how it was all a mistake, we'll see.

This has come up a number of times over the years. They say their account or credit card must have been hacked or sometimes a relative they don't want to pay the bill for.. While I guess it could be possible in some case, it usually is a scam. The one thing for sure is it is a real pain in the butt for the seller.
Good luck on getting this straightened out

Not seeing an issue with the link you provided William, what am I missing?

Hi, everybody. FYI, Bubbicus (Real name Ryan Weiss) reached out to me just a few hours ago, saying his wife made the claim with Paypal, and that he is taking care of it and will see that I get my $$ back. We shall see.....

Also, for what it's worth, Redwood25 Redwood25 here is good people to do business with. He's got all those positive feedbacks for a reason.

I can still remember when a handshake or one's word still meant something.

Time for folks to accept responsibility and stop hiding behind weak excuses, ("the dog ate my homework"), for their failure to do the honorable thing...or accept the consequences.

These lame excuses for deceit are beyond tiring...and just may trigger some necessary house cleaning.
