Buck !!0 question

I'll tell you something else......the most unpopular color now--will probably be the most valuable collectible many years down the road.

Odd, but that's just the way it works.

;)

I still say rivets are for looks ;) I mean really, what do they have to hold? Its not like its a trailer hitch or anything :D

Heres a couple examples for you to help decide. Sorry the pics arent the best, but they will help. I like Cherrywood. These match my 119! different handle material choices, shapes, rivets, steel, engraving types, engraving places.... it goes on and on!

Dang it, you just made me drool all over my keyboard! those are beauties.:thumbup:

The orange wood might not be the most handsome choice for some people, But I can see an advantage to having it if you layed it down while cleaning a deer or working out in the yard. You could sure see it better and probably wouldn't loose it or leave it behind!
I was killing some time on the Buck site and building a custom 110 on the 'puter. I like the walnut and brass with rivets and S30V! Especially for the price.Walnut is just a time proven knife handle that goes back hundreds of years.
I wish they would scrounge up some Ironwood and Damascus! I would have to sell a Kidney or something, But I would get me some of that! :)

Thanks Dave! I like 'em! :) Buck builds a great knife, no matter what choice ;)

This was to be my next one.... if work ever picks up! Well, maybe with nickel silver??? LOL SOOOooooo many choices :D
My goal was to get one a year, but I wound up with 2 in '08 and none since...

I can offer some comments from the perspective of the warranty returns department...Rivets or no, the inlays rarely fall off.
I personally like rivets on some and none on others. It depends on the bolster/inlay material I guess. I like the "clean" look of charcoal wood against nickle silver bolsters and no rivets for instance but like to see inlay rivets on a stag handle.

Good choice of steel I'd say. I'm with you on the FG part. The FGs are cut out of the frame, making the grip smaller. For my hands I prefer the full frame if it's going to be a user. I have some very nice looking FGs, but they are not my users. That may change though. It's not set in stone after all.

I originally planned on getting finger grooves, but I've come to appreciate the lines on the 110. I've putting this off way to long, but after hearing the news about Paul Boss retiring, I decided its time to order one.

I doubt that Paul will take the heat treating method away from Buck when he leaves, but I do wonder if they will be allowed to continue to use the cool Bos symbol?

Bos and Buck have been close, on both a work and a personal basis, for many, many years........so I'd be amazed if they were unable to come to an agreement to have the traditional BOS symbol stay on Buck knives.

that is a question i had also..
if they dont use it later
then it will make any blades displaying his logo go up in desirability ..
IMHO
he set it up trained his replacement who will be using his formula so why not?
but he may want it to retire with him..
either way i hope he is happy and has a wonderful retirement and
gets a new hot rod to drive!;):D

Then again, it may be that Buck has owned the rights to that symbol from the very beginning so the matter was never even in question.
