Buck 102 or Mora #2 ?

I understand one is meant for cutting meat and other cutting wood, but which would make a better fixed edc?
Have you considered something like the Buck Mesa ?

I like the 102, have one, the handle is just a bit short for me. But I have to use it to see how it works, function over form, but it is nice if still looks good. Also have a Mora, just to have one and try, just not sure how the scandi will do as an edc.for food prep, etc. Scandi is supposed to be a good wood carver for bushcraft, which I am seriously lacking in skills.

While not ideal for food prep, the Moras still work pretty well. It helps if your knife is really sharp. On many foods, especially softer foods, the blade geometry is no hindrance to good cutting. I have cut many steaks into nice, thin slices with my Moras. Where the Mora falls down a bit is on hard foods like carrots or crisp apples, where the bevel can cause the food to split suddenly instead of slicing through.

If the Mora were the only knife you had in camp, you would still ba able to prepare your meals without wearing yourself out.

If you use knives a lot for food, then you definitely made the right choice with a Buck over a Mora. Scandi grinds arent too great in the kitchen. Thats gorgeous by the way!
