Buck 110 leather sheath made in USA

Only the early first model sheaths were really thin, after that they weren't thinner they just felt softer. The sheaths of today feel like Raw Hide and need to be broken in. I have to say that the Brown leather sheath I just got with my new Custom Shop 110 feels very nice and its soft, Made in Mexico.

Well ,I had no problem buying 4 U.S.A made sheaths off the bay and i don't even own a chairman series 110.They were available from 4 diferent sellers, and are a much better sheath than the mexican stuff.I am in Canada and had no problem getting them,I think the sheaths will soon be made in USA for 110s

I would love to see pictures and maybe an ended bay listing, Just because the listing says they are made in the USA doesn't always mean they are. You could have bought the sheaths that were available for the Chairman series 110. Your statement above is a stretch though, I wouldn't quit your day job to become a Psychic.

Are there any sheath makers that are known for 110 sheaths? Like a one man shop here in the states?

I recall a conversation with someone a bit more in the know than myself in which i was told they want to bring back the knife and sheath manufacturing to the USA,so i guess its not as far fetched as you may think, maybe you don't know as much as you think you do,now go play someplace else back patter.

I may not be a an expert in all things related to Buck, but I know a little something about a little something. Before you start name calling and being childish, You may want to think before you regurgitate information you think you heard hear or else where. I'm sure Buck would love to bring back all their manufacturing, BUT it ain't going to be "soon", if ever... The fact is, manufacturing wouldn't be in China, Mexico, or any other foreign country if they could do it hear, It cost too much to produce in the USA. So again your statement is a stretch, And I don't need to pat myself on the back, I can admit when I made a mistake, some people just get defensive to cover there tracks...

There's currently an auction listing where the seller has six 110 sheaths for sale that appear to be identical to the one in post #23. He lists them as made in the USA and shows the end of a Buck box with the American flag and the words Made in the USA on the end flap.

I don't think they are made in the USA and I've asked him for more info. I want to see the other end flap to see what exactly the box is for and I asked how he knows or why he thinks they are made in the US. Awaiting a response.

Additional, the same seller has a couple of new sheaths for the 112 that he's also claiming are USA made. I've inquired about those also as they appear to be the same Mexican made sheaths.

I've done the same with that seller and it been over 36 hours without a response. Like I said you can list something as made in the USA but doesn't make it made in the US. Buyer Beware!!!

There's a great and long-standing tradition of high quality leather goods from Mexico.

Shouldn't be a problem.

Why don't they just mark them "Made in America?"

Most of the buyers would be wearing big grins.

:D

I think that would be a bit deceiving, That would give the impression that the item was made in the USA, and it wasn't. There's a great and long lasting reputation of cars made in Germany, doesn't mean we need to find a way to make people think the were made in the US. In no way have I said that the sheaths made in Mexico were substandard. Does Mexico make good leather sheaths, the answer is Yes, But the OP was looking for a sheath made in the USA.

Why is everybody so intent on protecting Mexico, there's not conversation disputing the quality of sheaths produced in Mexico.

Still no answer from the bay seller, go figure. lack of his response throws up red flags. These are made in Mexico, even if the seller lists them as made in the USA.

I got a response from him, simply "Thanks for the info".
