Today I got home and pulled it out of my work jeans to clean it up and noticed the clip had snapped.

I’ve tweaked quite a few pocket clips in my day, but this is the first that I’ve snapped one.

I’m pleased it snapped before pulling the screws out, but a little bit curious on why it snapped instead of bent.

At any rate, has this happened to anyone else?

If I ever find the time I’ll give Buck a call and see if it’s possible to purchase a new clip.

I do really like this knife though. So worse case I’ll pick up another. And I’ll try to report back on what Buck says.

These slim models are great work knives!

I know things happen. Doesn't look like an ongoing issue for sure.

Snag on something? I know I have a time or two and thought I might of damaged a pocket clip. But didnt.

I wouldn't think they would make you buy a clip, that seems more like a design or manufacturing problem rather than a user error issue. I have one as well, I'll have to keep an eye on the clip for any noticeable issues, none yet.

It could just be one of those things...its very possible I caught it on something and didn’t notice.

Call the warranty dept at Buck and tell them what happened...They should fix it for free or just send you a new clip....

I hope to call them and mostly just see if they are available for purchase.

I know things happen. Doesn't look like an ongoing issue for sure.

Very true. I really enjoy these slim models with the clips.

Thanks for the comments gents!

Here's my take. I'd rather it snap than bend. Snap means it's hard and doesn't want to bend. That translates into staying on better. Clips that bend always need bent back into shape.

When you call Buck they'll tell you send it in. If your a do it yourself type tell them to just send you a clip...they will. I had a thumb stud come off a bantam one time. Buck wanted me to send it in. That costs both of us more than it should. I asked them to put a stud in an envelope and send it my way. They did, and it took about 30 seconds to install.

I do prefer a clip that's "soft enuf" to bend rather than breaking. I've accidentally bent CRK clips a few times and had to rebend them in a vise before re-installing them. A clip that's too hard and is going to snap rather than bend does nobody any good. How many new knives have you received that will NOT go into your jeans pocket because the clip is too tight?

I agree, just give them a call (or email) and I bet they’d send you a replacement clip if you’re not wanting to wait around to have it sent in.

Also, might want to change the title.. 119’s don’t have pocket clips last I checked.. ;):p:D

Joking aside, I do like my slims (110 & 112) they carry well and have proven (so far) to be good solid workers.
