Buck 110 Sodbuster

I can't agree with this. The op called it wrong and should be corrected. ths
I don't agree with participation trophies either.

It sounds like you don't agree with a whole lot that goes on in this forum? The person that posted his knife was proud of his knife to post it for all to see. So what he misidentified it. It could have been stated it was a nice knife but it wasn't a sodbuster, don't you think? After all, topgear is a fairly new member with very few posts. I think it benefits this forum if we can educate rather than discourage people from posting because of the remark they got from the last time.

I'm sure you won't agree to this either, but that's your right. Just it's my right to post my opinion...

I didn't say there was anything wrong with his knife or that I didn't like it. It was merely that it wasn't a sodbuster.
No ones discouraging anyone either. Hey, I think I'll purchase one. But I know what I'm getting. DM

New 110 Lt with drop point blade.
Very cool!

Guess again. Nothing in his OP says he got the knife. Basically he was just announcing it.
Quit derailing the thread. DM was right. It’s not a sod buster. I’d rather have correct information on the forum than have people spouting misinformation that does a disservice to future newbies, but we are too afraid of hurting feelings to say anything about it.

Well what's the definition of a sodbuster? Blade shape is close, it's an inexpensive working knife, has a curved handle....

Per Blade HQ, a sodbuster has a skinner blade, simple handle, no bolster, meant for pocket carry.

but without participation trophies these poor kids will suffer and wont be motivated in life to keep trying.....

I grabbed one of these drop point 110lts. id prefer a sodbuster blade version....but this is almost as good.

I find the drop point more useful daily than the clip point...even though visually I like the clip point. hoping for an upgraded steel on one of the drop point 110lts in the future...but 420hc works fine.

Isn't the Smoke Jumper from SKBlades what you are asking for? They're ready and can be ordered. 154CMP, drop point and light weight handle. Preston

no Sir that's a clip point. not a drop point.

already ordered a couple for the lt and steel though. I was one of the few on that voting thread asking for it to be a drop point.....

I wasn't Hi-Jacking the thread. Yes, there is a lot of misinformation and downright disgruntled people, for what reason I don't know. I like seeing people post knives whether they own it or it's a pipe dream. This doesn't pertain to the OP, if you had a child that made a mistake would you just slap him down and go on?

I have always been talking about the 110lt. DM does know a lot but does come out with misinformation. All I'm doing is correcting him. Sound familiar?

You are so right, sorry. I truly thought it to be a drop point, when I ordered it:confused: I saw drop point, amazing what the mind will do! Preston

Are you implying the OP is a child or has a child-like mentality and needs to be handled with kid-gloves?

I'm pretty sure we're all adults here and can handle a simple correction of terminology without enduring psychological trauma...

Apparently, you missed the part where I said: " this doesn't pertain to the OP". Now let's get back to the subject of OP's post...

Mine just got here. What is the little nub on the back of the locking lever?

that's different than the 110lts. they have "nubs"on both the locker bar and the blade. interesting this one is only the lock bar side.

on the 110lt normal version it was stated it was due to not grinding them down so as to not affect the fiberglass nylon, whichever version, they are scales. why this one is different we'll have to hear from Mr. Hubbard.

Sodbuster is a trademark-protected name that Case gave to their version of a knife that has been called a Hippekniep or Taschenschlachtmesser in Germany for over 100 years. German knives by that name generally have the same blade shape as the Case, but can be found with spear or clip point blades as well. They are inexpensive, simple knives without bolsters intended for the working man.

Thanks. Sounds like a match to that 110 ;)

You must be in Germany, most Americans can't even pronounce those words, let alone spell them...Good information, so Topgear wasn't too far off when he called it a sodbuster...:D:D
