Buck 110 Sodbuster

Sodbuster is a trademark-protected name that Case gave to their version of a knife that has been called a Hippekniep or Taschenschlachtmesser in Germany for over 100 years. German knives by that name generally have the same blade shape as the Case, but can be found with spear or clip point blades as well. They are inexpensive, simple knives without bolsters intended for the working man.

According to Reitwagen, if it was a Case it would be called a sodbuster...

So close to a sodbuster but should never be called one since Buck doesn't own that name. I'm not sure how functionally different a drop point is from the sodbuster blade shape that Case sells.

I always thought a skinner blade had more belly than the sodbuster.

I still prefer the yellow handles, but that's just me.

Yes, Case has trademarked the name but it's commonly used for knives of this sort, much like people call tissue "Kleenex".

Locking sodbusters aren't uncommon. GEC makes the Mudbug for a small distributor whose name escapes my memory.

Cooper and Clad is doing Buck fans a huge service imo bringing out great Buck variations.

I'm waiting for fancy steel and pretty colors before I get me one of these Sodbuster 110s.

There will be more coming I'm sure. Nothing wrong with waiting for the right one.

.....unless it never comes.

The dilemma collectors face.

I personally like Taschenschlachtmesser better it has a nice ring to it, and it's not copy right protected.

oh yeah...in case no one paid attention.......c&c ones they came numbered......mine is anyways

The point being that we are not allowed to mention non-supporting dealers and their prices. We also have to be careful of deal spotting.

I believe a Gold Member and Above can mention places to buy Buck knives and the prices.

no so sure about that Sir. price an value.... yes....non supporting dealers I dont believe so. also we have to be careful of not doing deal spotting. I've done this wrong in the past. luckily mods here are pretty tolerant of us making mistakes.
