Buck 110 vs Modern Folders

So, according to you all I have proven is that I bought a 110?
Awesome :)
You can't even prove that you bought a 110, so all your posts in this thread are less than useless at this point.

Just as yours are you've shown zero proof of anything besides you might own one. We are expected to take your word you used it and it's tight still.

Still no proof whatsoever. By the way why aren't you goading TAH about saying the same thing about his 110 I did? He even sold it! OMG he could have sent it in!

Because:

1) TAH and I have interacted many times in the Buck subforum.
I know he prefers his 112. I know he sold his first 110. I know he recently bought another 110.

2) You love to throw around that story of trading for fishing lures.
I have seen your past posts on other threads mentioning it.
Then and now, I wondered "why not send it in for repair or replacement?"

3) You go on and on, without any photo evidence of you even having ever owned a 110.

I could go on, but really that is enough to show why.

Good dude enjoy your Buck, don't believe I ever owned one and found it lacking badly I don't care really. It's a 40 dollar knife I can own today if I choose to go to Walmart. I wasn't going to set it up and take pictures of it when it was junk.

OH OH..I came to the wrong spot..Anybody interested in a vid demonstrating how I open these knives..ha..

Question: How do you 'open' a flicker 'upside-down..I'm sure folks must be able to do it..jist haven't 'Seen' it..

Quoted for posterity......

Since you don't care, can we consider this matter closed? Agreed?
And the people who wish to compare the cutting abilities of the 110 and modern folders can continue the discussion without your tale of an imaginary 110 that failed to snap cut thorny vines in the trail of your life :)

Sure I own 1000's of dollars worth of knives, have owned many more 1000's of dollars worth that I've sold and traded. But, my Buck 110 was "imaginary". (and I've got the photos to prove it on most of them)

Sure looks that way ;)

And the way you fervently defend your opinion about that alleged 110, it is very hard to believe you wouldn't take photos and plaster them everywhere you could.
Something just isn't adding up.....

OMG!! Go back to Whine & Cheese.......:barf:

I don't take pictures of everything I buy. I didn't like the knife got rid of it. It was on sale for something like 28 dollars at Walmart. You think I am lying about it good. Besides what would a picture show besides a new Buck 110.

Jill, I totally believe you.

I think you're bumping into some of the BCCI Nazgul, intolerant of any suggestion that Bucks are in anyway lacking in any quality deemed good.

DesertChris, give it up on the pictures thing. It proves nothing really.

Well maybe a reminder that the 110 was intended as a hunting knife is needed.
It excells at those tasks.

The picture thing? Well.... I could claim to have found the legendary Excaliber, but without photos, there is no proof, only words.

Most of the 1980`s i did carry only 3 edged tools; my Buck 110, a SAK and a small axe. Often away for month at a time and among other tasks i did some hunting and fishing, couldnt be more happy with only these 3 tools

Hey, that'smy line! Honestly, I don't think anybody, Jill included, who is saying anything different, with the exception of some overzealous 110 fans who are trying to make it out to be something that it is not and was designed to be.

If Jill wants to suggest that the 110 won't hold up to hunting type work, well then, I think she's badly mistaken. But honestly, cutting up meat doesn't really stress the joint of a folder that much.

Anybody can point Google at the net and find any picture or video they want. That's all pictures really prove. IMO, demanding that somebody back up their claim with pictures is just a polite way of saying, "I think you're lying" and, again, IMO that does nothing but wreck your own credibility. If hanging out in the Buck sub-forum has shown us anything, it's that Jill is not alone in seeing Buck lock backs loosen up.

Perhaps we can discuss the (sad) Spitfire next?

Here's some nice pictures for DesertChris:

Your opinion comes across as very defensive and almost like denile. Open those eyes man, the 110 models aren't very good and $40 is alot of money for a bad knife. The more people who loudly, and publicly speak out against shoddy craftmanship the better. And tones like yours don't help the situation, imo it looked as if you were badgering the poor guy to consider that he may have got 'unlucky' or something. The only bad luck he had was the same as I and many others had and that's not having enough honest people spreading the word.

I have heard even the 'custom' ones are as weak as the standard models. Especially once used the blade play and gaps relly start to grow.

Incase noone looked into the thread I linked regarding my own experience here are some pictures of the 'custom assembly' sent to me by the guys at buck to replace the knackered ones that were only days/weeks old.

I don't dislike Buck. Or the mjaority of their products. But I am honest when it comes to anything faulty or badly made. And the 110 is pretty bad, regardless of the cost.
