As cutting tools, current Buck 110s are way better than their predecessors. The edge geometry alone makes enough difference to support the claim.

I also think that 420HC is better than 440C. Edge retention may be less impressive, but it's much tougher and in my experience allows for a thinner, sharper edge.

Yeah Wally has the real deal on Buck brand knives.. And they have Bucks Warranty.

I like and use the nylon sheaths on my 110's..
Get them all grungy and just toss them in the laundry with my jeans.
Shhhhh,,, dont tell my wife...
