Buck 110s and 112s SLIMS

Just got my 110 Pro Slim from Mike here on the forum. Man, I'm liking it. Feel a little bad since I just got a custom Vantage from SK and this bumped that from my pocket (for now at least). This is a great knife if you like the 110 style. Been waiting for this for a decade plus. Great first impression.

I just ordered a 112 in od green micarta. I might even pick up more to give out during the holidays.

Amazing looking functional knives, will get one in micarta and s30v and one in 420hc and blue frn, this beats spyderco endura and delica big time

got one form Mak today. incredible knife for the money. Mak did me right as always. thank you Sir.

so it's a blem as it was sold to me as at a great price to. here's the sticker to show the cosmetic blem.......

View attachment 998881 so I was staring at it for a while trying to figure it out...

went outside in the sunlight looked it over....finally caught it. one micarta scale is a very slightly tad lighter than the other.....View attachment 998900

so my impressions. nice and tight. very little play up or down almost none. side to side very solid. no play. thumb stud easy to open. micarta is thick enough and very strong. very little flex when squeezing. while using I expect no flex.

pocket clip works well. easy in and out but also tight enough wont come out if you arent taking it out. also no hotpsots from it. I'm an ambi handed knife user and in southpaw it's not even noticed. right side barely notice it. it's pretty impressive how it doesnt feel in the way like many do. two sided pocket clip holes drilled for left or right side carry. only tip up setup the way I like it myself.

one interesting thing I noticed is the thumbstud setup. its setup differently on this one. meaning not a super tight press fit style. it's got a bit of play in all directions. nothing too bad just different. dont know of they are all like that or this one being a blem is. no matter as it's a user and it takes nothing away.

I don't want to say that catch fraise that is completely overused....1 scale of the Micarta is a different color?:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::D:D:D:D

Look at how many different manufacturers would have sent that out without blinking an eye... Hat's off to Buck for their vigilance in Quality Control.....

yep. says a lot about what buck will call a blem. I'd call it unique at worst.:)

Got to handle the micarta 110 Slim yesterday. The micarta is not polished like that on my aluminum 110 or 500. Creates a very grippy surface for grip.

The overall thickness is thinner than my preference but makes perfect sense for front pocket carry with a clip.

I really really like the fuller belly and profile of the tip. I wonder if it's the same as the old Bucklite Max? It seems even more full and that's a good thing.

Overall, I hope Buck sells a gagillion of these knives. It really is the 110 for today's buyer.

An adjustable pivot has its advantages, but I can live without it. But then, time will tell, since my new 112s are going straight to work. I'll report back in a year and tell if the pivot has gone wonky.

The thumbstud should be tight. Here is a pic of the thumbstud for this knife. I suppose tapping it together may be all it needs.

that answers that. thank you Sir. gonna tap it tight tonight.

My 110 slim in G10 is arriving on Friday. I am trying to lower my expectations ...
Mine are set to arrive Friday as well. No reason to lower your expectations, mine remain high. The bottom line is this..... quite a few people seem to be getting their knives in now and there has so far been only one problem. And Buck has already stepped up to take care of it. I think on Friday we both will be happy!

NICE!!! . I'm so jealous..... Friday seems so far off LOL. I have a black G-10 and green micarta inbound, but after seeing all these pics of the brown micarta, I want that one now too!!
