Buck 111

The one Leesa got from Plumber, I thought he stated it as sterling. Our box looks to be as the one shown in your photo. I'll dig
it out and look. DM

To me the tooled leather sheath of the Classics is a real cool sheath to have and display. A lesser know attraction of Buck. DM

David I went back and read the May 1996 article by Vern. There are tons of info in the old news letters if I remember to look them up. Thanks again David

This is the 525 Leesa has and it came with a black velvet slip case and box. It is much heavier than a aluminum Classis. DM

Hi David,

If you look on the edge of your knife you will see that it is stamped. These are silver overlay's on top of the steel scales.

Thanks, John. I'm seeing a faint line with some discoloration of maybe a brass color. Is this what I was supposed to see? DM

David, Leesa has a nice 525... I think your looking for 925 stamped on the silver overlay's...
I wonder if they were all stamped... :)

Ok, I found a stamp reading, "AFC .925" . Mine has the jewelry case and a mirror polished blade. What does this mean? Thanks, DM

It's the proof stamp for sterling silver.

Sterling silver has a millesimal fineness of 925. The sterling silver alloy is 92.5% pure silver and 7.5 per cent copper or other metals.
