Buck 112 & Bg42 blade...Maybe??

With all the continued interest in the Buck 112 Ranger as
addition to Pete's shoppe I wondered if instead a Bg-42 blade
might not be a better workable idea.

I think we all know that the 112 has some die hard fans of which
I'm one. Several of us would like an upgraded version which may
not be possible on a small scale. However, a run , from time to time,
of blades made in Bg-42 would surely make a good knife a great little
knife. Something on the order of the blade swap for the 110. I know
I'd be willing to send in both of my nickle silver 112's for upgrade.

How do the rest of the 112 fans feel about this???????

I would be very interested in the BG42 blade option. The 112 feels more comfortable in my hand than the 110 series.

Regards,
FK

I would certainly buy a 112 with a BG-42 blade, if one were available. I love my 532 with it's BG-42 blade and a 112 is an even better size and shape for a serious "workin' knife". It should be a Buck capable of skinning at least a dozen bucks before you would have to touch the edge!

How 'bout a small run in BG-42 with N/S bolsters? I don't need all the other fancy options at PCKS for the 112 (I'll save 'em for my 110 collection) I just neet one in N/S and BG-42.

No new plans yet. Just for grins, I will see if i can get any support in the shop, for a run of BG-42 112 blades for blade changeouts. It does not hurt too much to ask!
Take care,

Hey Joe, Don't mean to be a pain about this just wondered if
there is any word on an occasional run of bg-42 for blade change
out for the 112????

I know that there were only 4 response to this post ,but I still have
to wonder if it is possible in the not to distant future. My 112 is the
most favored of all my locking knives due to comfort in the hand.

I'll cross my fingers and wish REAL hard ........who knows......
it could happen.......... Maybe.......

Count me in, Joe. I'll send in my 112FG. Heck, I'll even buy a 112 and send both in. If BG42 is good on one 112, it would be even better on two. What do you say. PLEASE! PLEASE!

An FG 112 in BG42 with in ns bolsters I am so in for that one. But how about 416 ss bolsters looks great no tarnishing. :D

Tom Carey

I have 4 112's that I would blade swap with BG-42 if that were
avalible. A 532 is in my pocket every day. A BG-42 112 would be
an even better EDC. I'd add one of the pocket clips that Dennis
Wright sells. That and a One Armed Bandit would be just about
perfect.

I did not want to say anything until i had the 112 blades in my grubby little hands. I really hate getting anybody excited about something and then finding out it can't happen, you know what i mean?
I DO have support for a run of about 100 blades though and they are supposed to start through the shop. I would guess that if they start today, it will take about 2 months, due to the grinding complexities and scheduling issues involved with BG-42.
These blades are for blade changeouts on existing knives.
Oh, one more thing, I am first in line! :p

Mr. Houser,

I know you still have my Mini Strider... but I'm so impressed by the support here I'd like to raise my hand for this one.

How can I get one of these?

What would I need to do? Can you reserve a BG-42 blade for me while I find a nearby store that'll sell me one?

How much would these run?

Thanks!

-Jon

Joe,
That sounds great!!! :D Put me on the list and I will be sending 2 NEW 112's to you for the changeout!! THANKS!

OK, Joe!!!!! Where / when do I send in my 112 and how much
will it cost?? Oh , Heck the cost don't matter just tell me where/
when..........

Thank's Joe........

Joe,

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Just tell me when and how. Don't want to know how much. I can have my two in the mail friday if you want. I can't believe this. My whole day just turned around.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Mike

YEAH JOE, I LIKE THAT TANG STAMP IDEA ALSO!!!! :D

HOW ABOUT A SPECIAL BLADE STAMP? Maybe the Bos logo like the BG-42 Strider SP and an anvil year mark? :D MAYBE something else special ????

;)

Will these be available partly serrated or only plain edge? I need to know if I need to buy 2 or 4 112's! (I gave my old one to my son and haven't replaced it)

Joe, Where do I send my check! I want to buy two new 112's and have the BG-42 blades swapped into them. One regular and one finger groove. My vote goes with Tom on the 416 Stainless. Roy

The latest news, as of ten seconds ago, is that they are now officially "scheduled"! This is a good thing. They did not actually get lasered before as I had previously thought, but I did find out the problem and they are now in line!
I am hoping for a May date and will keep everybody posted.
