Buck 112 "Nail Nick" Questions

Something like that. There was a small run of 110’s that had a long nail nick that looked like a fuller but was only on one side. Maybe someone has a picture? I think it had “Buck” inlayed into the handle too.89FBC7F2-E758-4A6A-8C9F-51739AFE425E.jpegFound it! This is from an old thread DeSotoSky DeSotoSky posted in. A SMK exclusive.

Buck 112 3 dot w/o w nail nick

I did not know a 3 dot with no nick existed.

Either I'm losing out to old-timer's disease or that's a real rare knife.

Is it a case where one was mistakenly let through without the nick being applied?

As mentioned earlier in this thread, Joe Houser's Ranger timeline shows the 3 dot being produced in 1980 and 81, with the addition of a nail nick somewhere in between. Not sure how rare. Here's my one and only 3 dot - it's a tank...

Very nice.

I don't think I ever saw one before.

I have a 3 dot 112 that has been customized with horn handles and a little file work on the blade spine, but no nail-nick. Can't be THAT rare if I have one ;-)
