Buck 113, it's here.

The 113 is on my shopping list along with the Vantage Force Pro. I'm just waiting until they are available on Buck's Pro Site so I can use this years 2 knife discount.

The 113 looks like a real little sweetheart of a knife.

Yup, the 113 is a sweetheart. It got the stamp of approval from my coffee crowd this morning. Those guys can be pretty particular. That little shop is so used to us "old guys", they think nothing of our gun and knife show and tell sessions.

Reading that reminded me of an incident that happpened back in the '80's and I hope you don't mind me sharing it here.

I had a muzzleloader that I was trying to trade off for a shotgun and a person that I didn't really know called and told me he had an old side by side he wanted to trade. I didn't really want this stranger coming to my house and seeing all my guns and stuff so I asked him to meet me somewhere and we would look each other guns over. He suggested the parking lot of a small Mom and Pop type grocery store just inside the city limits. I thought to myself that it wasn't the best place, but went ahead anyway.

We were at the tailgate of my truck comparing guns when suddenly there were two city PD car's and one Sheriffs car surrounding us. No guns drawn but they did look serious! It was easy enough to show them that the shotgun was unloaded and we had no ammo for it but they were a little skeptial about the muzzleloader until I showed them that the ram rod would go all the way down to the breach so it couldn't be loaded.

I live in a semi-rural area with a lot of hunters around, but the LEO's took a dim view of our public display! We left with a warning and our tail between out legs!

All the guys in our "old farts club" are avid outdoorsmen, and all are pretty well known around town as such. Folks bring me knives, there, all the time to be repaired, cleaned up, sharpened or for leather. One of the fellows collects a very high end, tactical, brand of knives and between him and my Buck habit--there's knives on the table most mornings. The Concenience store where we meet was held up last winter, late at night. The standard oppinion is that would never happen on our shift! Actually, 4 or 5 of us have Concealed Carry permits, and, at times do carry. I realize how lucky I am to live in an area where such is more the norm then not. We're a long ways from Denver or Boulder and not just in miles.

we also have dinners here in arizona. open carry firearm dinners. and some of us love our holsters and knives, which we will show off.

Just curious as to how much of a discount we're talking about here.. ??

I'm new here and just found out about the BCCI, but not sure if I need to join just yet as I'm not sure of its advantages for me..

btw, I'd just post the 'no customer service' yahoos here on the sub-forum.. I'd like to know who it is so I won't have to go through that.. 2 months?? not even the common courtesy of a phone call/email of the delay.

good luck,

op, I'm liking Buck again, more and more.. thanks for the post..
