Buck 124 Custom

hkingdom, thanks for posting the pics. Those are some great looking Bucks. Tell about the 124 with the 119 blade grind...the one Scott says is on steriods;). Preston
I'm not sure that I can tell you much about it. I was told by the BCC member that I bought it from that the work was done at BUCK KNIVES. He thought that they had done 19 this way with the clip blade. Joe H. may be able to tell us for sure.

Thanks,
hkingdom

You are doing a good job, show us "all " of those custom 124's you have.
I need too drool some more over your 124's.:D
Try a tripod for a clearer picture.
I'll quit boring you after this. I love these old 124s, but my real interest is in the early production or pre-production Buck knives.

...I don't think you're "boring" any of us Jerry...Those knives are beautiful and I'd be proud as hell to show 'em if I had 'em...Nice picture work too I might add...Thanks for sharing... :)

Keep 'em coming!

In fact Hkingdom, if you, or anyone else, can post a pic of a 120 and 124 side by side (in the same pic for scale), I would be most appreciative to the point that I'd let ya buy me a beer if we ever meet.

Thanks in advance...

...I've been doing so well IMHO at steering clear of fixed blades and then these start popping up all over the place...Definitely making things difficult for someone trying to keep the "addiction" relegated to one form of "temptation"...LOL...Those are some gorgeous knives...I'd also tend to lean towards the older versions as they seem to be more "proportional", when looking at the handle and blade, than the newer ones...Every one that each of you guys have posted in the past up to now has been fabulous though...

i couldnt agree more i cant stop looking at that stag with the correct handle instesd of the new lame one , you wouldnt want to trade would you hkingdom ;) :D excellent knives and pics hkingdom keep em coming:thumbup:

I'd like to know what the 122 prototype looks like and who was the mastermind that ground it out. I know it initially was designed for scuba divers. Was it specifically made for the underwater niche or was it made in the shop late one night and someone declared " that would make and excellent divers knife!" or was it a customers special request that made it into production. Is it in the Buck Museum Collection? Anyone:confused:

Thank you.
For the few days I've had it, I am really liking the 120. Am thinking the 124 would make a better camp knife with the wider blade though(???). I would get one without serrations, but that one is quite a piece of art.
Thanks again.

I use 124 for a camp knife and it's perfect for that.
