BUCK BAY WATCH Blunder

Flatlander It's agravating at time but if everybody knew what they had then no good deals would present themselves.[/QUOTE said:
You got that right Flat! When I go to town and I have the time, I try to hit the pawn shops. The going price for an old 110 is $10. They don't last long and the man at a pawn shop said I had just missed one he sold the day before. He said it was in great shape and had 3 rivets in the handle and came with the sheath.I don't know much about the old ones but it sounds like I was a day late and a dollar short.:D

Flat.....here's a Fourth Version, Second Variation.

I know they are out there and I'll find one one day. Thanks for the picture Edge.

That Mike has some real nice Buck Knives.
Btw, has anyone heard from him lately?

I know Sky, I found an "as new" Rosewood Akuona in a pawn shop for $39. That required an uninformed person who sold it to an uninformed pawn broker.

Seaplane raises the most significant point in this discussion.

With various discussions going on, I am not sure what knife is being talked about at any given time. I do know that the pictures of the knife that was the subject of the initial inquiry shows it to have a stainless steel rocker rivet. If Joes data sheet is correct ( and I tend to believe that he is usually correct) and since the first 110 that he lists as having a stainless rocker rivet is a Fifth Version, Variation 2, it seems improbable that the knife is earlier than a fifth version.

Telechronos:):):)

You guys are right and in trying to answer a question I have effectively hijacked the thread-my appoligies to all.:o

I appoligise for creating this very confusing thread, to the people that just get in,
I posted a thread stating that there was a 110 on (u no where) and the seller was mistaken about the version of knife. I think we all started trying to identify the real version and went on a tangent some where. I have read every post on this thread and really enjoyed the wealth of knoldge displayed here. This is the stuff collectors want to read about and need to know to be effective in collecting the things they really love. I admire the time and energy spent on this thread so, someone needs to start another thread that is just as interesting, because if I do, someone is going to say I am a trouble maker;)

HIgh FIvE

Ya done real fine, big guy!! We sure as hell don't need boring threads here, so keep up the good work.

In my town there is one pawn shop in particular that always seems to have lots of knives. I've picked up lots of old bucks for not a lot of bucks ;). I also found a 1983 R.H. Ruana 13A skinner for $30!
