I would guess that the sculpting / finger grooves were added by someone after the knife was originally purchased. {aftermarket}
Not something I have ever seen before and nothing that looks like factory done.

I’ll be just south of your cabin for the first few days of the season but no turkey tag. I will get out a bit to see what they’re doing though. Hopefully the warmer weather will have them a bit active.

How does the grip feel? Less slippery than when it was polished?
