Hello! My name is Darius, I'm 32 years old and I live in Romania. I must say I was very happy when I discovered this forum. As the title sais, Buck knives are available in Romania but the offer is very poor. You could only find a few models, and so far I only managed to "see" them in online stores. As a big fan of classic folders, I am the proud owner of a 112 made in 2009 and a 110 with finger grooves made in 2005 (the Idaho state stamp). I got them both a few months ago. They are just "plain, simple" bucks, but I love them, I just love the brass! I must say they are pretty expensive here, my 110 was 100 euros, but the bottom line is that I am glad I could get it, no matter the price (both new, with their classic black leather sheats). I also made a custom sheath for my 110 all by myself . As soon as I manage to take some pictures, I will post them.
So, the reason i'm posting here is that I wanted to say hello and to tell you guys that I love reading everything you post, it's a treasure chest of information what I find here. I especially like the 110 and 112 stories. I also love the pictures you guys upload.
Thank you for sharing your stories, wisdom and photos.

Best wishes from Romania,
Darius

Welcome to the forum, theres a whole lot of buck enthusiast on here and tons of info. Im a microtech man myself, but the first knife i ever had was an old 110 that my dad gave me when i was about 8, i used it heavily but when i realized it was something i wanted to keep forever i cleaned, oiled and put it away. My dad doesn't have many heirloom type things and his old 110 is just as, if not more important to me than any of my microtechs or crks. - Stan

Thank you Stan, I know, tons of info, I have been reading a lot on this forum, such great things to find out! I also see there are a lot of great men here that will share their knowledge with us, the new comers. I also noticed that Mr. Chuck Buck and Mr. Joe Houser post here and that is the most valuable info one can get!
Keep up the good work!

i got my first one in '67 which was promply stolen by a co-worker
now i have some thing over 300 of the 100's!
so be carefull they can grow on you!!!

Welcome aboard, there are some great peple here who enjoy buck knives and lots of other great stories as well.Stick around you might like it !

Yes, they grow on me pretty fast! As I said before, I am a fan of classic folders and even though the minimum wage here in Romania is about 200 euros (sorry about the euro, I will try to think in dollars) :), I still managed to pay that much to have two american classics. I only hope I could find them more easily and to start a collection! For now, they just sit there being pretty, I feel bad to start using them. Maybe I'll try to find a couple to make them users.

Thank you, RAZORBLADES! I sure like it here and I'm gonna spend as much time as I can on this forum. Thank you all for responding to my posts!

Welcome from a fellow Buck enthusiast. I'm new here also and find myself checking in at least once a day.

If it's got to do with Buck knives, you'll find it here.

Thank you Stumps. As promised, I took some pictures. Not great quality, the batteries of my off camera flash died... But I'll post them anyway. The sheath that I made doesn't look that good, but it's strong and it really holds tight my 110.

Welcome Darryus. Great photos of some very nice knives. Really like the wood on that 112.You did a nice job on that sheath too. Congratulation!

Those Buck knives sure are nice ones!! The pictures came out very good.

I'm no leather crafter, but I would say you did an excellent job on the sheath.

Thank you! Yes, I really like the wood on the 112 too! And thank you, I tried to make a sheath with the few tools I have for this kind of job. In the future, maybe I'll buy some more tools and some decent leather.

Thanx Stumps! I really like to work with wood and leather. The leather sheath is one of my first attempts, but it looks good I guess...and getting such a positive feedback from you guys can only encourage me!
Thank you again;)

Glad to see another who appreciates brass, leather, wood and steel.

But I looked at some of the other pictures and I see we've also gained another talented photographer.

That picture you called "Winter Road" is great, among others.

Thanks.

Congrats on the Bucks. They are a classic American made knife that will last you the rest of your life!

Thank you very much!, Indeed, photography is one of my passions...alongside with drawing and illustrating comic books.

Scott, thank you! This is the reason I got them in the first place. American made, build to last a lifetime and of course...the shape...classic folders. Brass, wood and steel, not to mention a leather sheath! It's all there ;)

Welcome Darryus,
You have found the best bunch of guys and girls on this forum along with a truckload of pictures of knives you will not see anywhere else, nice pictures you took there also and a couple of nice knives. I am new also to the forum and can tell you that the help and knowledge of forum members will amaze you. Good luck and welcome to the forum

Thank you, nutoknives! You are right, I can't believe that nobody is arguing, cursing, saying bad things about another person or laughing at one's mistakes and so on... I've been reading this forum for a few months now and I saw that it is indeed the best place to ask a question without being afraid I'll be laughed at and I know i will get at least one answer from somebody!
It really is the best bunch of guys and girls!!! ;)
I already found out a LOT of things reading their posts, and I've seen so many great knives!
