Buck in Romania

Very nice knives, pictures and sheaths. I really do like that style of sheath but own none as I work in a no knife building.

Indeed, it's a problem. For example, in my country you can't even carry a 112. If the police stops you and they find it on your belt or in your pocket, it's a problem. I made that sheath for carrying my 110 when I go to the woods or something like that (not that I intend to use my new 110, but to have it with me).:D. Anyway, it is worth it just to have a nice leather sheath, even if you don't use it, is like a knife you have for display purposes only and for your pleasure to look at.

Greetings and welcome to the forum. The best baker in the town where I live is from Romania. She makes pastries using a variety of European recipes that no other bakery here can compete with. :D

One way to get very special knives is to join the Buck Collectors Club. They are reasonably priced and probably no one else in Romania or Central Europe (at least anyone you know) will have a BCC knife. Also, check out the Web Specials page on the Buck web site. From time to time some great specials appear there.

Welcome to our corner of the "virtual" USA! ;)
I disagree; I think your sheath looks very good! And, the subsequent attempts will only get better. Keep it up!
In addition to the Buck Collector's Club, you can often find lots of nice Bucks for sale here on the forums. This place can be quite a swap meet at times. :D
Keep coming back. Nice to have you here.

Welcome to the forum Darryus. You have excellent taste in knives.
I like your sheath very much! Well Done
You must have spent some time working that leather to fit like that.

Hi wolfdog, thank you! It is sure nice to hear that someone from my country is out there doing a great thing! Yes, we have some great recipies here ;). If you know her well enough, ask her if she could make you sometime a dish called "SARMALE". If you don't know how to spell that to her, write it down and show her. I bet she will be thrilled to make some! It is a traditional food here, especially around Christmas. I also recommend this to everyone who is reading this. If you have the chance to enter a romanian restaurant, order that ;)

Puukkoman, thank you as well! I will try to do something about that Buck Collector's Club.

Sitflyer, thanx! Actually, I made that sheath in one day.

Mbjannusch, hi and thank you! I will sure email you soon. Thank you for your help!

That being said, I wish to thank all you guys for your kind words and greetings! Such a great feeling to see I am welcome here! I will keep coming here and hopefuly, I will be of some assistance to somebody, just like you people help me or any other newcomer!

I'll do that. It's a small town where people know each other, like a friendly neighborhood. She's a lovely young woman. Thanks for the suggestion! At Christmas time she makes these wonderful yule log cakes, with meringue mushrooms - I can't exactly describe everything she puts on to the cake to make it look like a woodland scene, but it must be the finest cake I've ever had.:D

Well, Darius, - - - there's a reason because I spend a lot of time here at the Blade Forums, to be exact at the Buck Foum, and only a few time in the German "Messerforum". And there is a reason too to collect Buck knives and not the well known Solingen stuff. And the reason is not only the high quality of the knives and the lifetime warranty. Here you find a great community with marvelous members    :thumbdn: ((sorry, mistake ;) )) , and it is worth to spend your time here.

Best,
Herbert

Oh, I see...thanx:D, now I get it! I did't have the chance to eat something like that, but I bet is yummy!

I like the buche de Noel where you make a flourless chocolate cake in a jelly roll pan and roll it into a cylinder which is the center of the log. A textured chocolate icing forms the bark, and all the mushrooms and leaves made from different confections make the thing look like a scene from the forest floor.

Thanx Vlad! Multumesc, ce tare, esti primul roman pe care il intalnesc aici! Si inca ardelean!
