Buck knife in the movies.

I remember how enjoyable it was watching Survivorman, Les Stroud, use a 119 as a wilderness tool.

Clint Eastwood uses a 110 to open a door in “True Crime.” I’ll try to get a pic, but it’s at about 1:27:00.

At the beginning of Gangs of New York, Priest Vallon tells young Amsterdam not to wipe blood off his razor stating, " the blood stays on the blade." Any ideas what thats about? great movie, the reference has always bothered me...

That horse is out of the barn, paddock and county.
I like this phrase. I had only heard the first part before. used when a secret is leaked. also heard it used to describe a problem with male underwear, in which case, the added vocabulary would describe quite a problem :D

Not Buck related, but I do have an idea.
The carbon steel blade will patina from the blood so you will never forget the blood and how it got there, it serves as a reminder of mistakes...ect so you don't make them again.

Not buck specific, but the question was for the Buck community. I dont typically interact in the general forum. may as well just sign up for a facebook.

The reminder is definitely what I was thinking. Ive also heard that keeping the blood on the blade, keeps the blood off your hands. Also killing is a sin which you cannot wash your hands of...
however, due to the fact that hes shaving when he cuts himself, i thought it may have been some old time rule about caring for a knife..

I was just looking for some other input and ideas...

Happy Easter

mmmm kinda, but also

" And David said to Solomon: My son, it was my desire to have built a house to the name of the Lord my God. But the word of the Lord came to me, saying: Thou hast shed much blood, and fought many battles, so thou canst not build a house to my name, after shedding so much blood before me. The son that shall be born to thee, shall be a most quiet man: for I will make him rest from all his enemies round about: and therefore he shall be called Peaceable: and I will give peace and quiet to Israel all his days. He shall build a house to my name, and he shall be a son to me, and I will be a father to him, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever."

So even his second favorite human, who battled and killed in the name of the Lord, didnt get a free pass.

I'm watching The Dark Tower for about the millionth time and I thought I'd take a photo.
The Dark Tower is another Stephen King story that they crammed a ton of book into a movie. Real pitty too as there is a whole lot more great story that was left out.
Anywho... Roland pulls what appears to be a Vanguard from a SOB sheath to get himself free from a demon.
