Sure like the figuring of the wood on that stock. Not over bearing, just right.Winchester 70 Supergrade Featherweight in 7X57
Thanks!Sure like the figuring of the wood on that stock. Not over bearing, just right.
Nice carry rig. Looks like it holds the pistol tight and at correct locationGot me a new rig to carry my Ruger Super Blackhawk when I‘m out scouting or woods bumming and not carrying a rifle or shotgun.IDhorace mentioned suspenders - this rig (the Denali by Diamond D out of Alaska) keeps me from having to wear them with all the weight - and the Ruger is right there in front, very handy but out of my way. A Buck 110 in a belt sheath or a Buck 102 is carried on the belt and in the back pocket when I’m scouting or woods bumming. I’ve had it close to a year now and worn it enough to be happy with the approx. $100 I spent. OH

Know of your wife’s area, I spend time up there selling building materials but haven’t done any hunting or fishing up there. I have hunted for the last 35 - 40 years in Northampton, Halifax, Edgecombe, Wilson and Pitt Counties. I used to hunt in Sampson, Duplin, and Wayne Counties too, but my good friend, hunting partner, and ARNG mentor passed several years ago and I don’t hunt that area anymore. I live down east on the coast in western Carteret County now but have never hunted here; it takes too long to really get to know land and the way the game uses it, so I make the two hour drive NW to Edgecombe to hunt and FW fish. I have great saltwater fishing here and just bought a kayak six months ago to fish the salt marshes. Water Moccasins are up the creeks where they are more freshwater and alligators are here in bigger and bigger numbers - some BIG ones too. This Denali holster may become my kayak partner as well - I load two rounds of snake shot and then four rounds of hardcast 300 grain WFN bear loads (good for hogs, bears, and any other unfriendly critter). My wife and I tried out my new kayak a couple months ago in the White Oak River - think I’m going to enjoy it as soon as I figure out the logistics of moving it (70 lbs empty) around by myself. I will look for the book you recommend. OHOld Hunter I spent a few years in Clayton where my wife grew up. I spent many hours in a canoe on the river drainages, Roanoke, Tar, Neuse and Cape Fear in lesser know tributaries fishing. there's a book named Paddling Eastern North Carolina I think you would enjoy just for history.
Your swamp turkey/cottonmouth pic reminded me of two floats he talks about. 1 crosses under the 301 in Nash co but I can't remember the actual name of the stream. claims he saw more cottonmouths than any other float. 2 is the lesser known North Cape Fear where they were quite aggressive and he was camping on the banks!
I was always haunted fishing those creeks and streams but fortunately only saw northern water snakes.
No visible light. The illuminator is Infrared (IR). Through the 1x scope and the NV with the illuminator, the FOV is about 40 yards at 100 yards and the illuminator makes it bright as daylight. It will glow eyes at over 800 yards and at 300 yards I can tell a coyote from a fox.MT_Pokt love your coyote rifle. Are you using a green light? I hunted hogs at night down in FL once and the host had mounted green lights that threw the beam way out on his rifles. Your handguard is cool. OH
