Buck-n-Guns

RLB0414 RLB0414 , these are my two favorite brands. And if it gets right down to it, my first choice of revolver and a fixed blade. S&W 581 and Buck 104.

No pics but wanted to relate a little stop I did at a local outfitter store, well known in Hanover county, Va but not one of the big ones you normally think of, they have a good selection of guns and knives, I was looking over the knife display, and he had some old black powder and ball Italian reproductions he picked up at an estate sale, so just out of curiosity I handled a Dragoon, 3rd model I believe, heavy sucker, but not as heavy as the Walker, an 1851 Colt Navy in 36 caliber, a police model or 1849 pocket pistol, and an 1860 Army, and looked at but didn’t handle a Remington. The big horse pistols were heavy, and I really could see why the 1851 Navy was a popular model, still some heft but way more controllable in the hand. I don’t know a lot about guns just what I like in some you tube videos by guys, so I didn’t cock it or dry fire them, the guy thanked me for not doing so, he explained that they could damage the nipple mounts. So I got to have some fun looking at their knives and finally got to handle the guns and what they felt like to hold. Not a bad way to spend some time on a pretty afternoon. Just wanted to share…and yes, I liked the Buck display and handled them too. I compared Buck 55 to a Squire (501), the 55 was smaller than I thought it would be, the Squire was a good size.

They do machine those grips beautifully. Knife details? And, those look like Nyclads, but I could be wrong.
Got a half dozen boxes of nyclads years ago in + P when I worked at a local gun shop, an estate of guns and ammo came in ad no one wanted them I use them in my carry revolvers as they dont tarnish lol, The Buck -my favorite 119 Heritage, love that D2 steel, always carried a snubby S&W for 35 years or so, easy to conceal on belt or pocket.
