Buck of the month!

Slightly less than just ordering one. Not special enough with 420 anyway.

I think we're going to find very, very few end users, meaning us here, ever had a chance to buy one directly from Buck. I'll bet ebay resellers bought most to dribble out on line. ..AND I bet most of them knew about the sale before hand maybe even before the email went out from Buck......
Mr Hubbard or anyone from Buck PLEASE, PLEASE consider putting a fair limit to any one buyer on the remaining Buck of the month knives for this year. I would suggest a limit of 5 knives or less. This would give the rest of us a slight chance of actually being able to add one to our collection! Because this is a Facebook promotion (I'm assuming ) Buck intended for us, the true collectors and folks who love Buck knives, to be able to buy a special limited knife. I'm hoping that this new 'Buck of the Month' might turn out to be a nice subset to collect and I think because of the Facebook angle Buck is reaching out to folks who might never join the BCCI or be a part of the forum here a chance to buy a special Buck. I sure hope this program does not turn out like the build outs have where a few wealthy buyers/resellers can and will buy up most of them and then turn around and double and triple the price to us the folks who really love them. I understand some folks make there living buying and selling Bucks and I'm ok with that but I hope Buck can keep this promotion and distribution a little bit more fair to all.
Curious where you got your info about someone bought a bunch of them. They limit the factory sale items to no more than 5 of any one model. Plus everyone gets the email at the same time.

Now we know about it so be ready to pull the trigger. Nothing is more fair than sending out the email at the same time to everyone.

So should Bcci knives be available to the general public and not just it's members? We have access to buy multiples thru bcci.

I'm POSITIVE every one they make for this promotion on Facebook will be a desirable rare and limited to a small run and will likely sellout quickly.

Only 5 are available on a factory sale. Jeff can attest to that. I dont know how many times that has been said. The old days are gone with no limits. So your wishes were already granted. So with that already in place there is no reason to raise hell about it. These rules I believe were put in place at the last fathers day sale. 5 knives. The general public bought 5 and more than likely posted on eBay the same day. EBay is a free market place to charge what you wish. It can't be stopped.

Or you can buy 300 at a time and get possibly a custom of your choice, after you have dealer status.
Anyone can buy a knife and list it for double, but you can imagine the reaction if someone on here sees it they will jump to conclusions that aren't true. This bad mouths Buck since they have already fixed it.

With only 100 made not everyone will get the chance anyway. It's impossible to please everyone all the time. It's best to be watching for the email and don't hesitate even for a couple minutes. With thousands and thousands of notifications going out at the same time they could be gone in seconds. And if that happens like it seems to have happened here you got to be monitoring emails all the time. And if your not quick enough, you cant get upset at Buck.Maybe set a notification alert on emails from Buck.
Call buck and ask. Anyone will tell you the same info.

If you see a pic of someone's knives they bought at a sale doesn't mean they bought them all up. Buck puts out numerous knives in multiple quantities to everyone. Some people spend 20k dollars in a day or 100k in a week.

This is a Craigslist ad, I know what the guy paid for the knife and the incorrect sheath. The nylon sheath on a 119 from Buck shows it is a blem knife. This guy doubled the price and LISTED it right after the sale. He probably thinks he can make a dollar since it was bought at the sale.
I texted him and told him the sheath was for a different model and he told me to f off. I responded Good luck.

Hunting, skinning, bushcrafting, survival knife. Like brand-new.

I've never cut anything with it.
It's only sat on the shelf in my safe.

Comes with nylon sheath and a heavy duty leather sheath.

Sharp as a razor blade, will shave the hair off your arm.

I did not mean to stir up any fuss. .and I thank you for letting me know about the limits that are in place. I'll look back at what I posted and likely edit it tomorrow. I want the Buck of the month program to be a big success for Buck and appaud them for reaching out in the Facebook community. I have only been on it a few times but I know many people are really involved and post frequently. My grandkids fuss at me all the time to go and look for them there. .

The only way to stop the gougers is to not buy from them at silly prices.

I hate to see anybody make more money selling a knife then the factory did.

It will be interesting to see if they are marked in any way. They will only be truly collectable if they have a special stamp or something. Otherwise if it is something you can order from the custom shop for a few dollars more there will be others.

Good idea for Buck, obviously a big hit.

Lest we forget, Buck is in the business of making and selling knives. Is it really our place to tell them when, how, how many and to whom they can sell those knives?

Eveled is right. If people quit paying double and triple for a knife they don't need it wouldn't be nearly the problem some find it.

I saw no limit of 5 on these knives as stated above. Yes, can Jeff attest to this statement please.

I see the option for up to 10 for most other knives on their site and you can probably place more than one order.

I'm in favor of first come first serve. Check your email or the Buck website more frequently.

There is a limit of no more than 5 from a factory sale. Lol oh well.

Truly, as aggravating as it can be when we miss one, open "first come, first served' is the only real "fair" way to do it. Any other way, means deliberately excluding one in favor of another. As someone else said, just refuse to buy them if the second sale price is to high.

Next time just be quick to check your email's and keep your credit card ready. With only 100 I knew they would be sold out within the same day. There are still 11 months left this year and no telling if Buck continues this throughout years to come. I'm excited and looking forward to the next.

Or keep an eye out online. Most of the time you will find something more interesting with fewer qtys available. Maybe even only ever produced. Alot of the BO (Build Out) knives fall under this. Not deal spotting but here is a great knife. just an example.

Just wondering if the "monthly knife" will take the place of the "build outs".

I'm wondering if "factory sale" is the same thing as this Buck of the Month sale.

"Factory Sale" is just that. A sale that takes place at the factory where you walk in and buy what you want. They do these twice a year (at least). Father's day(ish) and Christmas.

Buck of the Month, I presume is a web sale only.

I have several Buck of the month knives and just placed an order for February 2022 Buck of the month. I don't buy every month. I buy the ones that interest me and some don't. I'm wondering if these knives will be collectable and worth something some day?

Gosh, a member for almost eight years and only three posts...glad to have you here and interested in Buck knives. Do you discuss Buck knives on other venues? I'm just curious.
To answer your question, IMHO, if you collect knives, then any type of knife will be collectable. Now, I'm more of an accumulator. I just like knives...Buck knives are special to me. Like you not every one, so I buy just the ones like.
There are some that become valuable. Depending on the numbers produced and the demand for them. You spoke specifically about the BOTM, some of the early issues were made in small numbers and are hard to find and pricey. Here's a good resource https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/buck-of-the-month-botm-list-starting-2018-thru-current.1783429/
