Buck Quality Control

My Buck Vantage Pro could use some repair but I will never send it in. I can't believe i got a chunk of S30V made in america, heat treated by Paul Bos, with g-10 scales and a great feeling handle. AND a very nice low riding pocket clip for the money I did.

I think I got one of the early ones. I still love it and will not send it in. I do not want to discourage them from putting out these great knives at these prices. The bottom line is it still works great for me. It has a safe lock up and stays sharp.

Thanks Buck!

I got another Vantage pro and avid yesterday from SMKW ( since they had a 20% off sale Monday), and they were both perfect! It is hard to believe that I have bought this many and had no issues with any of them! I tend to feel the few bad ones that were reported on this forum are rare exceptions.

Dang it. I missed that 20% off sale.

Exactly.

It's the same way on the car forums. You can go to them and hear a lot of bad things about lemon cars (and be convinced never to buy that brand of car) but there's ten thousand happy customers that are silent for every one with a horror story.

When you go by overall customer satisfaction instead of anecdotes......you get the true picture.

Where would you send someone to buy a 110?

You might want to try the wally mart if you do not mind the nylon sheath. The nylon sheath keeps the price down. I like the nylon sheath as it can be carried horizontal or vertical.

BTW I should add all standard 110's are built at the same factory the same way regardless of price.

Might start with Wal-Mart, or if you have an Academy Sports in your ares you might look there. As a backup there is always the auction site. Bass Pro and Cabelas are usually a little higher on the basic 110. Hope this helps you get started.

Just to join in so you don't forget about me......

Ever notice how often a knife complainer has bought his example in an online auction.........I think those have a higher problem rate because they are the bad ones you wouldn't buy at a hands-on store. Folks can get away with selling over the untouchable, poor viewing net.....

My point is buy in a store when possible, or at least from a long-time known dealer. You want to start a business and have me buy, you better be checking your items for QC and have a written return policy.....
