Buck Vantage Pro disappointment

My experience, for what it's worth:
I just got a small Vantage pro.The blade was way off center, and the grind was all wonky. One of the screws holding the scale in place seemed stripped, but when I switched it out with one from my vantage select, it caught fine (oddly enough, the pro one fit fine in the select) I put it back together, found the sweet spot where it opened easily with no blade play, and reprofiled the edge.
I know I shouldn't have to do all that with a new knife, but for $37 shipped, I'm not complaining. And this may sound silly, but as a bit of a knife noob, I'm just so proud of myself for fixing all these problems. It is now one of my favorite knives. Having tinkered with it makes it really feel like mine

As well you should. I still remember the first time I fixed an issue on one of my knives. I was so proud of solving the issue!!:)

I love my vantage pro! Seems very well made. My only complaint might be the flipper may be a little small, kinda hard to flip open. For the money i feel its a good value!

I got my Vantage Pro from the Buck website with their 40% discount. Nice centered blade, smooth opening, solid lock up. Love it :D

Based on the quality of the Vantage Pro I received this week and the price point of the knife, I ordered two more today. Blade is dead center when closed and the lock engages mid-way on the blade when open, which seems fairly perfect to me. Bloody sharp too (pun intended) -- it's been a long time since a knife bit me and I didn't even feel it . . .

My Vantage Pro works like a charm, has a dramatic edge and suffers from none of the physical disturbances you have mentioned. Have I overlooked something? Buck will rectify the situation. Quod licet Jovi, non licet bovi.
