BUCKMASTER seals myth ?

Whats the point of having a forum if every like minded individual says the same thing?
A forum post would be the original poster with 12 likes.
I guess that is the way the world has been working these days anyway. Ignore.
I am boycotting this subforum and if I ever make a Buck related post, I ask it is not moved to this subforum. Until the ignore feature is removed.

You do realize that the Ignore button is forum wide? Not just a Buck sub-forum feature?

You'll have to boycott BladeForums entirely, haha.

I don't understand. Ignore is a member option tool. Not a thread or sub forum option.

His first sentence "OK, maybe not the worst knife, but certainly the knife that is the least useful based on design, weight and ergonomics." That has been mentioned in this thread several times and while I've not carried or used mine, I agree with this. As far as my accumulation of Buck knives, it would be one of last ones to go should I have to drain the pond. Preston

Why not?

They seem to be steadily increasing in value.

So, I agree as long as it might get sold one day........but if I had to keep one knife for survival the Buckmaster would be gone.

Well, this is the Buck Forum. Wouldn't that make everyone on this forum like-minded?
Bear Claw has stated what has been going on for quite awhile. You can't have a decent discussion or debate, for that matter, without someone coming in and trashing everything that is said and brings in links and examples that don't make any sense and or doesn't prove the point they're trying to make, but yet they continue to argue about it. It just gets ridiculous to try and deal with. The ignore button was so people who don't want to deal with the troll's don't have to see or read they're constant negative remarks about anything that is posted in this forum.

Wallace a forum where one person makes a post and then all that happens he gets 12 likes and then you go to the next thread and do the same thing? What do you call that, it's not a forum and it would die from lack of content and due to it being the most boring, noninformative, one-sided so-called forum there ever was. We will miss you, maybe you had some insight on some of the topics that the rest of us would be interested in hearing? Who knows 's and if that's the way a forum should be no-one will ever know about your insight, after all, isn't a forum about the discussion about peoples insight and knowledge about a particular subject?

Seems to be designed as a 'jack of all trades' and ended up 'master of none'. Except for collectibility, it gets high marks there. Preston

OK Wallace, this is a prime example what a forum is all about. Preston posted his personal opinion and didn't try and force it down anyone's throat and didn't try to prove anyone else's opinion or facts wrong. He put it out there for his stance on the subject and that there was no argument or trashing of anything.

Preston is a regular poster on this forum and I for one enjoy his insights, knowledge and especially the pictures of his knives. In other word's he's an asset to this forum and he is well liked and respected by many if not all. He contributes and not destroy's the subject...He's good people...

Preston, I hope it was OK to use you as an example. It was to praise you and not offend...

I"m back.. I read this huge thread..Wow lots on misunderstanding and Misinformation but some good stuff here. THANK GOD we can express our thought freely here!
A few answers and some American Military History for ya all! First in 1984 at Dooley McKlusky's bar in Oceanside California. A Navy SEAL Commander drew the BuckMaster anchor system on a bar napkin since the SEALs gear would get washed away while on a mission. mickey Finn of Qual-A-Tec grabbed said napkin and took it to GENIUS Robert aka Bob MacDonald who made ALL the "survival knives" prototypes along with his son Rick MacDonald. PHROBIS I was created. Then PHROBIS II was created for the BuckMaster lite(AKA Skeleton Knife SEAL's like these prototypes better) model 185...The US Navy SEALs were issued said model 184 knife June 20th 1985, 2500.. fast forward... PHROBIS III company created for Model 186 Ti-Master aka Buck Titanium take apart, the venerable M9 bayonet, CUK Combat Utility Knife SEALs issued to Naval Special Warefare Command (less than 250) and the MFK Modualer Field Knife...Here is a page from my new book "M9 Bayonet The Authorized History" to despell any myths that the BuckMaster was never a true SEAL knife

good info thank you Sir. you could use one of the pic hosting sites. there are a few free ones many of us use. if ya cant figure out how, i can post them for you.

Thanks Rich for wading thru the muck and giving some information. Discussion is one thing and attacking and arguing is another. Over zealous defense, key on the OVER, is just as disruptive as someone who you consider a troll and giving their point of view. Name calling and bickering that takes over a thread will not be tolerated. Several people claims of a past forum member do not apply, that person was using multiple BladeForum names, was troll posting on multiple Blade Forum sites, cautioned and given negative point fines and eventually investigation led to the fact that the multiple forum names came from one computer ID code. That code was banned for life. I reported this thread to a supermoderator who read thru it and stated multiple people were borderline on receiving points. Key on 'multiple' people. He said if I wanted to fine some of you he supported me.

Instead I left this thread alone so everyone could rise to the common good but continued 'carping' on NON-Buck knife subjects and discussing non knife playground antics is just about to peeve me off. I was told by high up that one thing people don't need to do is peeve off a moderator stuff starts happening. 300Bucks
