Many
knife companies can send freebies to a
SEAL Team and then claim that there stuff is used by, etc., etc.. The Buckmaster might have been more than that, it might have been assigned a National Stock Number (NSN), I don't recall.
I had a Buckmaster, which is what the #184 is, when I was a teenager. It beat me to death
hiking with that thing one time and I never carried it again.
The knife is extremely heavy for that size knife.
The
saw is not a real saw. It's useless.
As someone said earlier, it is more of a collector's item.
Can you survive with it? Absolutely, you
can survive with a lot of different things but when you consider that you could purchase an ESEE Cutlery SERE-5 and then still have money left over to purchase a
Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon II Backpack and then still have enough money left over to start filling the backpack with vital gear...no, the Buckmaster just doesn't come through as an intelligent purchase.
