pinn, you're welcome. Much of this rings true and for similar reasons. First you must take some of my statements as tongue and cheek (and I think you're seeing it) as I'm dry. And that term you picked up on is one. Because I used it in that sentence as almost mocking the activity. As: you must have played baseball at one point to catch this...
I don't think it was an accident that Robert L. did that grind. Yes, he was capable of throwing something in your face just to make a point. But he went on to do SO much for the knife community that the full hollow grind at that time doesn't surprise me coming from him 20 years early. I'll see one of his early employees here and have coffee with him and ask him about this. (Blade Hall of Famer, organizer of the Knife Makers Guild, ect..) He was edge and at times fiery. Still, it does cut and it did sell. The public embraced it. I believe some similar items happen with Buck. They stood fast on some of the ways they thought were right. I think we'll continue to see some of this same sparkle in CJ. So, you may get to see that grind. Cool. DM
