KA-BAR Full Size US Marine Corps Fighting Knife, Straight...i was going off what ive seen everyone else refer to it and the blade bent, chipped, and its extremely uncomfortable. i barely even used it. i cut some wood and the blade bent, this is not a knock off either. i got the official papers and whatnot saying it IS a KA-BAR knife
Ka-Bar has great customer service and, if it's a defect in the blade, they will gladly replace it.

Even with the best, an occasional 'bad one' slips through. With bent blades, it's typically a bad heat treat. Rare but not uncommon.

Post over in the Ka-Bar subforum, give details of what happened when you were doing what, pics would be great, and let's see what they say.

Your requirements are way too broad to make specific suggestions.

Dozens if not hundreds of knives fit the role of "good all-purpose EDC for under $100"

So I'd suggest you look at some reputable brands and make your own choices.

Spyderco, Benchmade, Buck, Kershaw are all good places to start.

If you just want someone to tell you what to go get - Spyderco Delica4 FFG in FRN handles.

There are lots of knives in your range. Since you like the Izula maybe give an Esee 3 or 4 a try. The 3 will be a better slicer but even the 4 with a thinned edge will get the job done. For folders the CS Recon 1 and Spyderco Endura are excellent recommendations. I have all 4 of these knives and like them all. If you go to bladehq they have a search function that allows you to narrow your search with a ton of different filters. Maybe fool around with that a little.

The Cold Steel Mini Recon 1 3" blade is a good, strong choice with super steel. It comes in clip point (below) and spear point.

The Spyderco Delica has good VG-10 steel, is super light weight, and comes in many colors.

Well, if you decide to give Buck another try, their fixed blade Model 113 is a very classy little knife.
Just held the Alaskan Guide model today in my local Cabelas (it's a special run of the 113 made just for Cabelas in s30v), and it fit my hand nicely.
I'd go for the 420HC. Good serviceable steel, with Bos heat treat and ~$45. Comes with a nice sheath too. Really can't argue with that.
Very nice looking little knife. Very classic looking.

Edit to add:
In terms of specs you wanted, it has a blade of 3 1/8" and over length of 7 1/4". good and small.

yes i batoned with it, the wood itself was maybe half an inch thick. i hit it and it chipped and for the bending i have no clue why. but even at that i did not enjoy the knife and found it extremely uncomfortable to get a good grip with

that is a beautiful knife and i like the price,do you have any personal experience with it or have seen it in person?

I have experience with it. It is on the far right. It is a great little slicer, but the handle is a lot darker thn in the picture.

I have the Alaskan Guide series in S30V and I have to say, it's one of my favorite Bucks. Stout, solid, and slicey.

The only direct experience I have with it was when I held one in Cabela's just this morning. It fit my hand perfect. I juuuuust got a full four finger grip on it, very similar to my Izula 2. I felt like the blade had a really nice belly for slicing. One very notable thing to me was just how much smaller it was in real life than it looks in the pictures.

It was beautifully crafted, and Buck's 420HC is darn good stuff. I obviously didn't get to use the 113 at Cabela's (although I'd love to see the look on the clerk's face if I took the knife and started shaving the top of my forearm with it!), but it felt very "right," and if it's anything like my other hollow ground 420HC knives from Buck, it'll be a darn good slicer and take a good edge.

Of course, the fact that it comes in at HALF your budget is also nice!:)

thank you so much, i truly do love how well my izula 2 fits my hand and ill see if my cabelas by chance would have one to check out

Wait... you bent this knife barely using it? I have beat the snot out of mine- it has done things that are illegal in most states and is still going strong.

I had a ka-bar break on me once too, but it was a folding hunter, it had lock rock, pretty serious too so I gave it away.
