I designed this knife in about 1975 for a large Taxidermy shop in the S.F. bay area. I made about 15 of them for the shop and kind of forgot about the pattern until just recently I came across the templet and decided to do it again.
This Knife ismade from 3/16" 440C at RC60, The blade is flat ground and mirror finished. Blade length is 2 3/8" by 3/4" wide and an overall length of 6 7/8". It has a full tapered tang, the handle is Buffalo Horn with a Red Spacer, Mosiac Pins and Brass Lanyard Sleeve.Just finished today and havn't made the sheath yet.
Price$165 plus shipping SOLD

Thank you for looking

I am a taxidermist in Mississippi great looking knife. is there anyway you could make a bare minimum version if so I could possible be interested just something left real plain to cape with, with a rough finnish for good grip if possible how much might that cost of course cost is not the most important part but I know my boss will ask

Nice! And I understand why you haven't made one in a while. What are the odds that a taxidermy shop that is big enough to need to order 15 custom capers would have survived in the SF area? :D

They were in bussiness for over 40 years and the owner passed and no one could come up with the money to buy the bussiness so the family just closed it. At one time they were the supplier of all the mount moulds and taxidermy supplies in the west.

I would have figured that the local PETA weenies out there would have stormed the place with torches and pitchforks eventually:D

Dave:
That was my bad, it should have been .net and not .com.
I have sent email this morning from my Yahoo account requesting address to send payment.
