BUG REPORT: Report errors here

Probably way down on the priority list but the search function doesn't seem to be working.
 
My Platinum membership is up tomorrow and I wanted to renew it today. Should I go ahead and do it or will there be a problem?
 
Triton, "Search is not working" doesn't mean much to me. Read the SEARCH TIPS thread and please be more specific.

Larry, Subscriptions should be fine

Email notifications for thread subscriptions aren't working yet, nor are notifications for new PM's.
 
Ok, checking email situation.

EDIT: Mail has been fixed. Postfix wasn't set up right.

Oh... sorry meaning that if you click on the "Search" link off the main page (or any other page I've tried so far) and type in something to search on it does not load a list of threads with the search terms but instead just loads a blank screen. The same thing happens if you try to use an advanced search.

When I logged in it just dropped me back to the same login/new account screen.

I'm having the same problem as not2sharp. I log in, then it brings me to the same log in screen. Then if i click on a thread it brings me to the thread like nothing happened.:confused:
 
Not a bad problem, but when I move the browser over a thread, I can usually see the first paragraph in that thread in a text window. Not able to do that at work or at home.
 
bladeforums.com comes up a new page that I have never seen before. Not complaining, just commenting.

How are things coming with the attachment system?
 
When I sign in to the forums, all the lights are off on the new posts(all of them actually).
You then have to look across at the dates of all of them to find the new ones if you just go down a forum and don't use that see new posts feature.
I never liked using that.

If this is a duplicate, my apologies, I didn't read everyone of the problems above.
 
I’m having trouble with the search function too. I’ve tried stuff like “Spyderco” or “Busse” and just get a blank screen. “Kershaw” gets results, but you’d think Spyderco should as well.
 
Triton, your search results in too many hits (Bowie and Sword)

The blank page appears when the resultset is overloaded (max 500 hits?). BF used to show a page not found error before, now it's a blank page.
 
Amazing that after all these years some people still don't get how to search the forums properly. :rolleyes: ;)

In your search for "Henry Fowler Bowie" exclude the word "bowie".

In your search for "sword" you will need to be specific as to what type and try to exclude the word "sword".
 
I'm noticing something odd, and I don't have it pinned down exactly what it is yet but...

When you go in someone's profile to find out their email address and click on the "Email: send a message...", it gives you a form instead of an email address. That part is fine.

But when I RECEIVE email through that system and then try to REPLY to it, either by using the link to the form, or just by hitting "reply" in my email and swapping the email address to the sender's address contained in the email, the people aren't recieving them.

My SUSPICION is that many people's email service's spam filters detect emails with this subject:
"username @ BladeForums.com: The Leading Edge of Knife"
as spam.

Search really isn't working. I have fooled with it several times, when I click on search now it reloads the page. I was looking for a post on gun control and I typed in gun control. I clicked on 6 months back or newer, nothing. I tried 3 months, nothing I am only searching in the political arena. I tried adding words to the search like ban, nothing. It just reloads the search page. I got the same thing yesterday.
