Building a 5 board bench - Wormy Maple

Every once in a while I build a bench. Sometimes its a small 'stool' sided bench for kids to use but I've build a few prettier ones as well. Dink and I stopped by the wood store while out the other day and they had a bunch of wormy Maple in stock. I couldn't resist. I'm going to do a build along of the project.

These first two pics show the 8/4 wormy Maple planks that will serve as the top and legs of the bench. They are cut and jointed and ready for biscuits and glue.

That's cool looking wood. Looking forward to seeing the final product!
 
$2 a board foot. I couldn't resist.

Looks like it will be a nice project. Thanks for pix and looking forward to seeing how it all turns out, as I have a few in my own future plans.

That looks leak a really fun project and that wood has a ton of character. Can't wait to see the progress.

Lol, you say this as if trees don't have other sorts of poop in them. Or that they don't... ummm...grow in a substance that is in large part made up of the poop of millions of insects and animals. Life is literally full of poop, it's all in what you make of it :)
