Building a 5 board bench - Wormy Maple

It turned out really nice! I know its not complete. But it was cool watching this being made. I have always wanted to get into wood working. I mind have to pick Andy's brian somemore about this subject.

That carving bench is missing a price tag Jason. Hahahaha! The craftsmanship is on point. It amazes me how natures flaws (aged or insect ridden wood) create some of the greatest pieces of art. I'd buy a Fiddleback carving bench and that one is a Fiddleback original.

OK. Spent another 5 hours on it today. Distressed, then stained, then sanded to 120, then distressed again, then sanded to 220 and stained again. (2 different colored stains, first driftwood, then maple. The driftwood color is in the original distressing and is a nice highlight.)

Thanks Tony. Its heavy as hell, or I might bring it to trackrock to show off.

OK. The cutouts int he legs are sanded and painted, and the first two coats of oil are on the bench.

nice work! Thanks for the pictures of the pocket screws.

Looking good AR. And you had gotten all bent out of shape over a "minor" setback. [emoji6]

im very glad to see my drill w/ no battery and two trays of knives stacked on my desk. that should make for a pleasant welcome back

nice bench

The drill is my fault grumpy... LOL. The knives are my fault too I guess.

nice work! Thanks for the pictures of the pocket screws.

I also wanted to see how this was done. Woodworking like this is something I always wished I had learned, and impresses me tremendously.

Or we could just buy everything from IKEA, glue it together, and hope nobody leans on it.

The Kreg system is pretty awesome. I had used them at cabinet shops before so I bought a set when I built my asshole brother's bar about 8 years ago.

I had put off getting a Kreig jig kit for a long time because of the expense, but I'm glad I have it now. Made the asembly thing very easy.
