Building a new shop in my back yard......pics

I want pavilion or carport, for my forges, a fire pit and a smoker and pic-nic tables and chairs, a shady spot to relax and drink a beer  Well, those dreams got mailed to the IRS early last week :thumbdn: .

Scott...and don't forget a new special purpose Buck Vanguard. You can use the gut hook to reach your thong and break it loose on those sweaty days while relaxing and drinking your cool one :D :p

How about a little consideration for others??? :grumpy:

THUMBNAILS!!!

* If you have a problem posting pictures, there is a Quick & Dirty tutorial at Photobucket For Dummies.

BTW - This thread does not concern Buck knives. It should have been posted in the General forum.

Moderator is asleep.

This post reminds me of the way you like your coffee and women! :)

I too have been working up a spot out in the corner of the yard for a 20x24 on a slab with a 16ft garage door and probably a 36" steel side door.

your pics Capt will inspire me,,,,maybe.... The full size ones....lol.....

but, but, don go putting no Bucks on a grinder....

It helps kick-start the day if you wake up and they're both crappy... :D

Yeah, it does sound kind of harsh, doesn't it???...Good!... ;)

Someone wished me a good morning once...I told them that my day sucked when my feet hit the floor...they haven't good morning'ed me since... :p

Don't think my Bucks will need the grinder! But I have some old knives that have been abused over the years that will need it. I have 2 acres that I keep mowed. Lots of mower blades and tools.

Another use of the building...I can smoke my cigars in peace!

my response is great size, but here in the north that would last one winter before the frost heaves would break it up faster than brittney and Kfed.

My last pour was on top of footers that went down 50 inches and had 16 inches of gravel and then sand to make sure the under side never heaved.

Another question, how do you get charged for bandwidth? I have never heard of such a thing. its 14 a month, all you want on dial up, and 27 a month all you want on DSL.... am i missing something here?

I assume that's for me... :D

It depends on where you live, who your ISP is, what plan you sign up for...

AOL, Juno, Earthlink, MSN, dozens of others...there's also hundreds of local ISPs who buy fractional T1 time...and offer every kind of subscription service you can imagine...

The most basic gives you something like 5MB of free bandwidth per month...which is lots for text messaging...but you start getting WAV files and JPG/GIF/BMP files, and the bandwidth goes out the window...

Which is exactly what those big portals are [literally] banking on...

First I'm gonna learn how to do thumbnails! instead of big pics.

Nah! Don't bother! I'll just add your name to the rest of the Bandwidth Hogs on my Ignore List...I was adding Bunghole anyway; no big bother to add another... ;)

There!!! That makes this forum a lot more enjoyable!!! I open up a thread, and it's practically empty!!! :D

I think there's only 5 or 6 people I can actually read posts from now...but they're quality people!!!

(And hone$ttom too, of course) ;)

Though I have learned the thumbnail gig, you can still keep me on your list. :p
BUT, if ya have me on your list, how do you know I wrote to keep me on the list?
Ahhhhh, Grasshoppah....

My footers were about 12 inches deep. The pad was built about 2 years ago and is compacted hard red clay. I put lots of steel in it also. Shouldn't move around much. Snow is not a problem here in Texas...thank God!:) We're getting rain here this week. I'm gonna try to start going vertical next week.

I hope you guys didn't get any of the tornados that went through up there.
