Bad Bullpin 2.0

oge14 oge14 ... the original Bullpin has posted a sales thread in Busse sub:

This happened . Not going to try and lie like others. The way OGE writes it is a little misconstrued. We spent hours what seemed like the entire night getting this deal going. From email to texts so it was easier to send pictures of the other knives he was interested in. Hoping I could break even with another knife sale. I didn’t get the knife i wanted to buy either that night. To make it quick, I was Writing the text saying I didnt want to go through with the sale when the notification that he sent funds popped up on screen. His funds weren’t in my account more than a few seconds. Or as long as it took me to finish our text conversation before returned. First lousy decision I made in hundreds of good transactions on here over the years and it was way past my bed time.

The account change is totally legitimate. It wasn’t some crooked scheme . I’ve been in contact with mods about this since I realized This account was not working properly and when I first posted with the new account in the forums i frequent I introduced myself as both. Recently this account was fixed. Bullpin2.0 will be getting deleted.I’m Sorry if you don’t want to do any business with a horrible , shady knife lover like myself. Thanks

The overwhelming majority of BF members are trustworthy people. Obviously, Bullpin 2.0 is not one of them. Thanks for getting the word out.

I've read the emails and text messages and to be quite honest, this post is rather misleading in my opinion.

At 9:18 PM oge14 oge14 offered you $475 for the TG, you accepted his offer at 9:20 PM.

At 10:37 PM you informed him that you just had a guy offer you over $500 for the TG and that you were refunding his money.

You also stated that you were sorry, mad at yourself for doing this and one day hopefully you could redeem yourself.

Redemption starts with you owning your decision and not shifting any of the blame on another.

I'm not sure what this has to do with your actions or your behavior- But I'm not responsible for the consequences of your actions and this just makes you look worse.

For me this is only a hobby amongst people with integrity.

Breaking his word for @ $25 more? Unreal.

If you’re in this hobby to make money, you’re doing it wrong. In case you’ve forgotten, it’s fun and enjoyable for everyone here. Just think about a member being disappointed thinking they have just gotten a knife at a acceptable price they can afford only to be denied because of someone’s greed. Where is the fun in that ?

I want to add an unrelated but relevant (imho) addendum to my comment just above.

Back in 1995 I was shopping for a particular motorcycle that I couldn't find at the time locally. Called around quite a bit and after some time I found a dealer in Leesburg, FL, over three hours away from where I was living who said he could get one and would take my current bike in trade.

Fast forward to a day or so before I was to go up and do the transaction.

My local dealer calls me up and tells me he can get one from his warehouse the next day. (This dealer was about 20 minutes away.)

I told him I couldn't as I had agreed to the transaction with the dealer in Leesburg. He asked me if I had signed anything or if money had exchanged hands. I told him that neither had taken place. He told me that I was free to buy the motorcycle from him locally, in that case.

I told him I wasn't free to do so as I had given my word to the other dealer, money or documents notwithstanding.

I rode up the the 3.5 hours to the dealer, picked up the new bike, turned around and rode home.

(The unexpected reward for having done the right thing was that the dealer arranged for me to be introduced to some folks at Daytona that ended up becoming very close friends of ours for several years.)

To add, yes, you may have gotten the introductions bc you honored your word and the dealer was grateful, but you did not honor your word because you expected something. You did it bc that is who you are; you honor your word for the sake of honoring your word and nothing more.

Thank you, Chris.
