Hey, anybody out there ever had a problem with Admiral Steel? I hate to be posting this, since I'm sure they're a good company, but I just wondered if I was an isolated case?
About five or six weeks back, I ordered two pieces of steel online from their website--1 4"x1/4"x36" piece of 1095, and 1 1"x1/8"x36" piece of ATS-34. At the time, I was a little perturbed, because the website never gave me any kind of confirmation that my order had gone through, so that I could print or save it. Still, I thought, I've never had a problem before, so...
Well, two weeks or so goes by, and I'm doing the jonesy dance ("Want my steel! Want my steel!!!!). Finally, one day, I come in and there's a huge, HEAVY box. GREAT!! Well, I go to open it up, and it takes (no S**T, here) a CROWBAR to open this thing. Needless to say, the box gets pretty well destroyed in the process, so nothing's gonna be hiding in THERE. Long story short, my 1095 is there, but not the ATS-34. So, packing slip in hand (which shows both pieces on it), I go to the phone, and call Admiral. Again, sloppy on my part, I didn't get the name of the woman I talked to. This, because she assured me that the other had gone out in a separate shipment, and would be arriving in just a few days. Oh, ok. So I'll wait...
Three weeks later, with no steel materialising, I email Admiral from their website, and, receiving no answer, I called. I had it explained to me that both pieces should've been in that box, and that, "...that was a sealed fibre box, sir...it would have been in there..."
Well, I can assure you, it was not. I don't think this was the shipper's fault, as the parcel was delivered intact and in good shape, still sealed. However, I am definitely beginning to lose my patience, here. Every time I talk to Admiral, I come away feeling like I'm either being called a liar, or that I'm some sort of idiot that could lose ten pounds of steel.
Anybody else ever have this happen, and if so, how did you pursue it? 'Cause I sure don't seem to be getting anywhere with this...
