Bummer...

I'll only be posting once on this thread.

Did anyone ever consider that these knives that Jerry sends to the Sheathmakers are knives that he can't sell (at least while they have them), hence he can't make any money on them. Also, what if he was short knives in the first place (due to extremely large number of orders or loss during manufacturing) Either someone would have to go without a knife (that they had ordered and had been waiting for) or the sheathmaker would have to wait a little longer (or maybe not get one)

I'd much rather have the knife in my hands than be told, sorry your knife is being used by the sheathmakers as a blank, so you'll have to wait 3-5 months for them to be done with it. I think it is also important to understand that if Jerry has to send (at least) 4 of these knives to sheathmakers that it is now four knives that he didn't make any money on and those knives may have possibly been needed to fill an order we don't know anything about (ie military)

I can understand you are upset (and I'm not trying to upset you or the sheathmakers) but there are sometimes other variables that enter into the scenario that we know nothing about. Also my understanding is that Jerry has created this program with the sheathmakers to offer us more options with his knives.

And yes, I do know what the website says, but as I said before sometimes other variables enter the equation. I also don't think that the forum is the best place to air your displeasure, especially if you haven't spoken to Jerry about it.

If I had a Force one, I'd be happy to send it to Leatherman for you, but I'm sorry I don't have one of these.

Eric:

Your post here doesn't really make sense and seems to be an acknowledgement that Jerry is leaving F1 owners out in the cold.

Jerry himself set the Policy.

If he can't get knives to the sheathemakers, all he has to do is change the policy.

The Busse site has been refreshed at least 2x since the Force One came out. It would have taken the site programmer less than 5 minutes to delete that one line.

As for not making money on those knives... what did he expect when he set that policy? He doesn't even have to send an actual knife. An un- heat treated blank ground the same way would work as well.

Jerry could have also posted a message here saying that F1 owners would have to send their blades in themselves.

As for this not being the place for discussing this... This is a Busse Forum, Jerry himself posts here. If you have a Web site, expect folks who prefer the online formats to air their grievances via online channels. All Jerry had to do was respond to one of my gentle nudgings before and it wouldn't have gotten so big.

I have no intrest in the F1 sheath situation, IMO nor should it be disscussed in my thread, I wanted one answer to one question with my thread, you think jerry is just gonna be able to easily see my question , with relative dates, with all this other crap.I am not even gonna give you my opinion on the f1,but in general I do not think that 5 months is outragous, a couple years is a long wait, ahem RJ :D But one problem per thread, that way the problems could be handled, instead now we have two people somewhere in this thread who are pissy, and sides have been drawn on each side...BS. I guess honestly I am mad that some are pushing thier problems ahead of mine, someone had started a thread about the f1, think I am gonna drag my problem over to that thread? I just want an answer too.

Not trying to be a dick, I am sympathetic that we dont all have our knives...I dont know why anyones posting here, there is only a couple people I expected to post here, as in busse employees. I feel bad, this is my thread, only thing goin on here is a pt5 that has been out awhile. I really cant believe people came in here and crapped all over this thread, I am sure jerry will be pleased to have to sort through all this crud, I guess I need to call. I feel like its my fault for the bad turn in this thread ,cause its my thread, even though its not my fault..

I am mad that people are bashing busse in my thread, I appreciate the service, jerry doesnt have to take a knife back, I am grateful he gave me the chance to send the blade back, I will admit I was pissy about this when it first went down, I just want that badass tanto back :D and I dont want other problems to slow that down :D

as far as what seth said about a man being able to sharen his own knife...I know you say that wasnt a stab at me, the knife didnt go back for a simple sharpening, it was ground lopsided, had more edge on one side, sent it back for a retouch and it came back with a blunted tip and missing krinkle coat so it had to go back again. I just dont get the commentary here, this is the busse forum at BFC, and I dont want a disscussion, this was a cust service post, just wasnt getting email responses from busse...

I was the one who started the thread about the F1.

Jerry and crew ignored it.

I raised my issue here as well to help draw attention to your thread, and hopefully have my issue resolved as well.

Who do you want to make you a sheath? I will mail my F1 to them so you don't have to. You just let me know and it is out the door for a fitting. Mine has Mag handles though, so if yours doesn't then the maker would have to figure that little detail out.

Mine don't, they have the regular handles. I'll offer the Same deal as Pro-Porker for any maker listed on Busse Combat's websight. Plus if any Busse sheathmaker wants to borrow it to make sheaths for others, drop me an E-mail.

jerry has stated in the past couple of weeks that he's been working 16 hour days for some times, and that military orders have been far over what was ever expected.

i work in a pizza store (not really the same thing, but it has similarities) that searves a 6 mile radius in all directions, and our wait times are between 45minutes - 2 hours depending how busy we are, and how many drivers/ cooks. when its 45 minutes, and theres only one order up, its pretty much gaurenteed to get there on time and the order correct. but when our wait times are getting into the 1:15+, and there are 50 tags (orders, ranging from 1 item to 12 items needing to be made) up and im the only one in the kitchen making orders, im not sure if there is a customer complaint until the people come in.

once the complaint is made known to me, i will do my absolute best to get it out to them, often times sacrificing the work of 4 or 5 orders to get it done. and then, some times, things go completely haywire (30 pizza's coming out of the oven crashing for 45 minutes straight) and that complaint gets lost until they call and complain again. at wich point they get a completely free order, and profuse appollogies.

im going to have to go with eric on this one in that busse combat has been completely swamped lately, and jerry may not be able to check the forums for a week at a time. with the way he posts when he is on, i have a feeling his posting style would be closer to what bill martino's was when he was feeling better, answering almost everyones questions and adding comments constantly.

it may take several phone calls, but as long as your calm and not excasserbative in your tone when you call, i dont think it would be a problem to do it every 3 days. sure it bugs me when customers do it at the pizza shop, but i understand their dillema, and as long as their not swearing at me (and even if they are really), i'll continue to put their order above others, sending it out first etc.

it might only take 2 minutes to erase that part of the website, but it may just be that the policy is on hold while the madness is still ensueing from military orders. i would love to see an employee dedicated to making sure that orders are done right who frequented the forums, to make sure that all the policies were iether kept running, or the customers kept up to date, but it is a bussiness, so that might not be possible.

so definitely hassle 'em :) as long as your nice about it, i dont think it will cause them to much greif.

All,

I have been out of town on due to a family illness. . . .Sorry for not responding, but I just read this thread.

Eric22Green,

Sorry about the delay with your knife. . . .no excuses, we are just way behind at this time, I will make it right with you. . . no worries.

Cabbit,

I just left a message for you on your answering machine, sorry for your troubles, we will make it right with you as well.

We're having a blizzard here, so please call soon or I may be without electricity and thus, no phones for a while.

Thanks to those who tried to calm the waters. . . .

Early on, through the '80's and early '90's I used to really get really irritated with complaints and accusations that attacked my company or me personally. Luckily, Jennifer had the wisdom to explain to me that I was very lucky to have such passionate customers. . . It means that they really love our knives and that I would be much more troubled if that passion diminished and our customers became apathetic towards our product.

So thanks for kicking my arse when I need it. . . and thanks for defending it as well.

Yours in nuclear knife loving passion,

Jerry

I will say I dont have any busse knives but I have a few swamp rats and man they are worth the wait. I think the whole key is communications.....Thanks again Jerry and Eric also for helping me.....MURRAY :D

Jerry I hope all is well.

I was caught out in the snow myself and wasn't able to make it home until 4:30 am.
