I cranked this one out from some of Don Hansons W2 steel. Its hard to see but there is some alloy banding thats interesting to look at as a bonus.
It sports curly koa and 416 ss guard/spacers.
Thanks for looking

Very nice. I got some of that alloy banding above the hamon on a W2 bowie I did. I thought that I had messed up the finish during etching until Kevin Cashen told me what it was:D

The banding wasnt visible until I dipped it in ferric for a few seconds. The entire blade was alive with it but with some hand polishing it tones down somewhat.

Now that is a real winner, a great looking user!!!
Will the banding fade with use?

Thanks Guys!

I used flitz and polished it out several times by hand. I cant see it fading out over time but if it does I can just clean it and re-dip the blade to bring it all out again. The longer the dip the more activity shows up. No wonder Don is selling W2, its cool stuff.

Love that one, Bruce.

Might have to put you to work on making me one very similar one day. :)

another nice one Bruce.
Your knives always look well finished and tidy.
