Bump "bird & trout"

Thanks Guys!

I used flitz and polished it out several times by hand. I cant see it fading out over time but if it does I can just clean it and re-dip the blade to bring it all out again. The longer the dip the more activity shows up. No wonder Don is selling W2, its cool stuff.
A few seconds is right. I dipped my bowie in weak ferric two times for a total of no more than 60-75 seconds combined and the hamon and banding popped right up. i thought that I had messed up so I hit it with 1000 and 2000 grit wet-dry and then polished it with Simichrome several times before assembly and a number of times after to fade it out a little and shine it up real pretty. Have you tried a milder etchant like vinegar? I may try that next time.

That's a special looking little knife Bruce. I see some nice handle contouring I like too. Its all very easy to look at.

of putting out awesome knives! I hope my table is on the
opposite side of the room at the Blade West!

I love the way the plunge cut feathers into the false edge.

Fine work, as usual, Bruce.

Best regards,
Dana

See ya next month at MKA?

I've been so bogged down with my real (?) job and a lot of family affairs
that I'm way behind. I'll be doing good to have 6-8 pieces ready for
the Blade West show in Sept. I'd loved to be "retired" so I could just
do knives! Hopin' in 1.5 - 2 years to be living on the property near
Bonners Ferry where I can pester you and Ed Caffrey - alot :D

I'll miss the MKA. I really like the laid back atmosphere and the chance
to visit with the "gang".

Take care,
Dana
