View attachment 761541 I first thought someone at the factory had been "hiding them," but when I checked the tip I noticed the grind was off slightly; I wonder if mine had initially failed to pass qc, then passed after re inspection. NOT COMPLAINING, I'm happy as hell I got the 3rd to last one, and for my purpose a few degrees short on one side at the tip is not a problem at all.

I kinda doubt these had any kind of QC issues. I suspect Ka-bar probably would have said so or not released them at all.
Mine from the first batch has a slightly uneven grind. No biggie to me as I plan on convexing the edge anyway. The bigger knives perform better for me when convexed. Notably better.

I hadn't heard anyone mention that before! Thanks, I wouldn't have worried about it at all, but it's only the second Kabar I've got with even slight grind issue, the other was a snody big boss. I have seen some badly botched knives from other companies though!

Perfect! Thanks! Any chance you have a KB big brother sheath you could try to stick the 29 into, if it fits in there, I'm getting a 29 today.

The bk9 fits in the big brother sheaths($10) I have only with the rivet by, or the thumb ramp removed. The 29 or 20 need a condor moonshiner sheath to fit!

danny.k had some issues with the grind on his 29 if I remember correctly, I think he got it sorted rather nicely. One of the perks of 1095, it's easy to correct if needed.

Both the 29 and the 20 are practically unbreakable, at 1/4" thick, I don't know how bk&t could top these!

I've been tempted many times to get one of the Zomstro Choppers on clearance, then mod it. I remember the one Murph modded, or perhaps Todd. It was sick.
