Everyone's "eye" is different when it comes to traditional knives, but two of my favorite looks are burnt or torched covers, whether stag or bone, and carbon blades with patina. So when the two are combined, I usually just go, "Wow!" Please post photos of your traditional knives with burnt stag or burnt bone covers that have blades with patina or bluing or have been etched in some way. I'll start.

Jeff, I wish I had an appropriate knife to add to your thread, but I don't. I do think you have excellent taste and the knives you are showing are beautiful! OH

Here's an example of both the OP's intention and forum generosity.

Not my knife, but I saved a couple pictures of it because I really liked the toasty bone that Queen put on it:

Only half the requirement (440C so no patina) but some nice stag and it has been "etched"... :D

Great stuff, folks! Keep 'em coming!

Old Hunter, thanks for the kind words.
Markesharp, love the rainbow damascus.
Pmew, really great stag on that little barlow.
Corey, I love that old burnt Queen bone.
Primble, that's a right gnarly one.
SAK Guy, great lockback and the etch certainly qualifies.

Wonderful stuff, guys. Lemmy, that 'pick looks awesome. I have the same knife, but no patina . . . . yet!

Thank you Clutch It's coming along nicely:D

Here's another candidate, not burnt but browned...

It is indeed Christian. And you don't seem to have any average knives in your collection, just choice ones!:D

Here's a 25 of mine, very lucky to have won it in a GAW. Would never part with it, but some people seem to sell off knives they've won, odd.

Thanks Will...lol. I do have a few mediocre pieces, but let's just admit it. Anyone who spends time around these parts has more knives than he needs, me included. Any I pick up from this point forward are a luxury. Might as well get the choice ones.
