Gee, I'm glad we're not clogging up the political forum with this. ;-(

Well said, 1SKS.

C4,
Come on now, it's okay to get a little excited about the prospect of having GW in the White House. Don't underestimate the importance of having a President who supports "many of the rights that we all hold dear". Those rights are under attack today like they've never been in the past. At a time when many of us thought that the spread of the cancer that is gun control could only be slowed, we can now actually hold out hope for the possibility of some amount of remission.

The fact that you used the word "lessor", when you meant to say "lesser", doesn't make me think you are unintelligent, or cause me to dismiss your opinion. Likewise, I wouldn't let a few "uhs" and "ands" cause me to lose respect for someone who has their heart in the right place. Who knows, maybe this is a sign that he's someone who actually thinks about what he's going to say, as opposed to being one who simply relies on memorized, canned party rhetoric to create a response to every question he's asked (like you know who).

Cool. Who is fighting whom, and is picnicking going to allowed next to the battlefields like last time?

Imagine if we threw a Civil War and nobody showed up!

Two worthless candidates. Fortunately, Bush doesn't have the old baggage (Reno, Allbright, & etc.) to weigh him down.

He might be able to appoint a competent cabinet. Isn't that what really matters. The president is only as good as his senior staff.

Oh, good days are here again (maybe?).

Did anybody see them asking Gore question's on the news tonite? They asked him about a "Mandate" and Gore was heard saying something to the fact that he didn't think anybody remembered. He was in college and had a few to many beers etc!

Watch out for the G*****! It aint over yet boys. Even if the Supreme Court rules in Bushes favor(Not a certainty as the Court except for Thomas and Scalia is abunch of left wingers), G***** and his Cabal can Influence just a few Electors to CHange their votes to the Democrats. The result is that G***** wins the Disgrace House. But Then anothere Result is Possible: Sucession by several or many states in the South, Great Plains, and Mountian States.A llegal president Will Not be accepted by many States!

Ok, I'll say it again.

Well, it should be an interesting four years, that's for sure. The country is shockingly divided as to our future direction and choice of leader and I hope that those currently (or soon to be) in power remember that. Most of all, I'm utterly sick of the politics of personal attack. It would be nice to see constructive criticisms of political figures based on their policies and merit as leaders rather than childish attacks directly against them and their families. Unfortunately, the old ad hominem is easy and doesn't require actual thought or reasoned opinions. One last thought: guess who's going to be under the microscope now?

OK I think that with Bush up there he is so dazed and confused that he reminds me of one of those dog toys you see in the back of a volkswagon. But last night when Gore made his speech, I just wanted to wring his neck ( I can say that right?) Not that I was ever in favor of either canidate, the thought of listening to Gore whine for the next 4 years makes me think of fingernails on the chalkboard. Let's make Clint Eastwood president and the chick from Dark angel as vice pres. Looks and attitude make sense right? Sure it does.

Nope. Better retract that one fast. But, you can say "I just want to ring his neck" in the sense of ringing bell. When I see him, I often want to ring his head just hear that hollow sound.

But, a bell rings with a constant note each time it "speaks". Al Gore seems to ring with a different note each time he speaks.

Keep thinking W!

Mark and others who have complained about this thread being in the wrong place are right. I left it here because Turber started it, and because I thought it might act like a sponge and soak up any other politically oriented postings. I also think that the predominance of Bush supporters on this board can be intimidating and maybe even threatening to Gore supporters, or to those who don't give a darn about politics. So it's time for this thread to go over to the Political Arena (I think we should rename it to the Political Coliseum in honor of the gladiators who hang out there).
