BushBuddy Back Packing Stove

Thanks for the link - wow 5/5 reviews - can't get any better! Now to deciede if to buy the buddy or buddy ultra. The website doesn't mention what are the significant differences performance...only size 'n weight Hum....which one?

they're supposed to perform exactly the same with the difference being weight. so it all depends on you preferences and whether or not your an ultra light hiker. that being said, if weight is an issue to you and you dont mind investing the money than why not pick up the ultra-light?

Nice looking little stove. I have a Sierra stove which is great but I may cobble up one of those.

mike, i liked the idea of the sierra stove but the gripe i had was that it required batteries and the fan of course is moving parts that can break down over time.

thanks for the comments :D

I saw these and made one similar, but smaller. It is a quart paint can (new, unused), with a vegetable can inside. I had to redesign the inner can once to get the jets on the top to work. You can't really see them in the pictures well. I still need to work on a pot stand for it, however it won't be hard.

Not saying its better than the bushbuddy, because they use higher quality materials, but I could make close to 38 of these for the cost of the bushbuddy. Obviously there is time involved, but it took me all of about 20 minutes to make.

It might be an option to make one this size if you have a smaller pot you want it to nest in.

Shadow...any chance you can pull the inner can out to show us how you constructed it? i.e. the holes in the botton and sides? Very interesting!!

Took the plunge...thanks to you guys! Now trying to find a Ti pot that it will nest in perfectly. I tried the MSR Ti pot but the lid won't close/seal. I may try a IB but I'm trying to stick with Ti. Any suggestions is apprecated.

Snow Peak titanium pots have worked well for me and are usually pretty reasonable.
