Bushcraft Blades: Do they really matter?

I hear you. Nor, could I imagine heading out on a hunt without a couple of knives and a sharpening tool. But, that is how the story was reported.
It happens. I remember my Dad forgetting his rifle deer hunting and had to drive back home to retrieve it. Of course, that pretty much ruined the day. Forgetting stuff happens. Me, I would still probably have a SAK in my pocket even if I forgot a fixed blade. But it's still easy to imagine.... change pants, in hurry,.... forget knife.

Having just about any knife with you in the woods whether you are hunting, woods wandering, or hiking is a plus. I don't think it matters much which knife it is as long as it's sharp and you're comfortable using it. We have our preferences however.
