Bushcraft Folder: EnZo Birk 75 Redesigned

I have to retract my last posting about not liking the Birk. I did end up getting one with the curly birch and have now found my favorite edc knife. I still cary a small vantage with me to work every day but when I am not at the office, my Birk is always at my side. I guess i never gave it a chance before. It is really a great knife. Ive used it for everything from normal every day cutting, to food prep to whittling. I did attempt to filet a fish once and it did a pretty good job, the blade is a bit thick for fish prep but it did a good job. I fully recommend this to anyone who has any interest in it. Its a damn good knife.

I would not say it is a ton better. The fit and finish is better. The steel is the same as the Buck Vantage Pro (s30v). I prefer the style and the blade grind.

It rides well In the pocket I forget it is there most of the time. It really boils down to preference. If I got another one it would be the full flat grind version. I think it would make a wicked slicer.

I feel like the scandi grind is a darn good slicer actually. I cut some cured sausage tonight with it and was able to get very thin slices with it.

I love mine.

As for "Scandi grind," mine came with a secondary bevel as is customary with knives from this area.

Anyone know if it is possible to either stain or dye the Curly Birch handles? I would like mine to be a tad bit darker.

Do you know if leather dye would work for it? I have some of that already. I am guessing that I should oil the wood or treat it with some waxing afterward too.

Seriously excellent review! Just stumbled upon the Enzo Birk in S30V and was merely considering picking it up, now, I am sure I will buy it. Thanks for taking the time to make such an informative video.

I have never even known about this knife until about 15 minutes ago, really beautiful simplicity and the effectiveness of scandi grind.

I wonder if anyone can answer some questions please -

Is S30V tough to sharpen the scandi way, ie flat on a stone?

I am a bit concerned about the pocket clip though, with the post where the screws attach not sitting flush with the handle - it looks like something that could snag on the ede of pocket as you insert the knife in. Is that an issue?

thanks guys, will find time to watch that video review later on this evening, gotta work right now

I do not use the so-called "Scandi grind."

I have not experienced any problem with the clip. Has not snagged. Tension seems perfect.

Thanks for the review(s) pics & video, it was a great help with deciding to get one of these or not!

About the secondary micro bevel, there is non. I checked with Dennis from Brisa before ordering mine & he told me it can appear there is one but that's because they polish the finest edge on a buffer.

& Sveqs, a brother from another forum, the clip can snag a bit some times when wearing my Fjälräven pants (thin fabric) although easy to overcome, but it appears to be less of an issue with jeans somehow. Unfortunately I have no experience with sharpening this steel just yet, but ask me again in a couple of weeks or so.

Here are some pics of mine, I just got it two days ago but I'm pretty sure it's a keeper:

One thing, I don't think these were made in Finland.. Taiwan if not mistaken? They do however, do handle scales for their fixed knives.
