Bushcraft knife, D6 tool steel

Hello J, that’s 14mm of aluminium forced under a hydraulic press, edge was fine.
take care

Awesome stuff Farid.
Been checking out your stuff and that D3 blade that you have...i'm drooling.

Speaking of which, how does the blade shape look like after this?

And what metal pin is it?

hey folks....(hey farid),

farid made one of these for me a few months ago. the performance of this blade is incredible. never had a knife hold an edge like this. thanks again farid, hope all is well.

I just picked up Farid's D3 knife that he posted at the same time as this D6 one. To say that I am impressed is actually an understatement. Of all the Custom user FB's i have bought (over 100), i have no doubt that this Farid D3 knife is the toughest, most widely capable knife of all.
The Scandi grind is Perfect on both sides and comes to a real, useable point, not even the slightest hint of rounding at the extreme tip. The edge is hair poppin sharp which i greatly appreciate as too many knifemakers don't seem to be able to truly sharpen the edge. The handle slabs have a grippy texture and are nice and thin making the knife a pleasure to hold.
Thick handle slabs are never needed.
I almost didn't buy this knife because Farid's pictures are not inspiring and i thought that his price was a bit high for what looked like a relatively plain knife. Now i feel a bit 'shaken' in that my dithering could have lost me this knife.
I'm extremely pleased that i went ahead and spoke for it. It's a truly awe inspiring knife and worth every penny i paiod and more. The delivery from Britain is not cheap but it is much faster than i expected.
I posted this here to let other BF'ers know that so far you all have missed a rare opportunity to buy the D6 knife.
If you buy it and are not blown away, contact me. I'll buy it from you.
